On Madam Quinn's insistence, Sabrina left the hospital and returned home to get some rest.
As she stepped into Alex's house, she paused when she noticed how dark and unusually silent the place was.
Where was Alex? She had not seen him since morning after he left her at the hospital saying he wanted to handle his personal business. She had thought he would be at home.
She flicked on the light as she slipped off her shoes, letting the silence settle around her.
"Alex?" she called out, her voice echoing faintly. No response.
Her frown deepened as she set her bag on the center table and walked further inside, her gaze scanning the living room.
