Sabrina moved briskly around Alex's bedroom, shoving her stuff into her bag with a ferocity that made her actions seem almost violent.
Her lips were pressed into a thin line, her face pale but flushed with anger. She barely glanced at Alex, who stood a few feet away, arms crossed, his expression a mix of frustration and amusement.
"Can you please stop," Alex said quietly, stepping toward her.
She ignored him, grabbing a pair of heels and stuffing them into her already-overflowing bag.
"You're overreacting," he said, his voice firm now. "At least take a moment to think about the effort I put into this. I've done everything I could to get to know you. Don't throw that away. I believe I deserve a chance."
Sabrina froze for a moment, then turned to face him, her eyes blazing. "You think you deserve something from me?" she said, her voice dripping with incredulity.
Alex's jaw tightened, but he didn't respond.
