Sensing that she wanted to tell him what was on her mind now, Hunter took his seat, "Dinner smells amazing," he said, trying to lighten the mood.
"It tastes even better," she said confidently as she picked up her fork and they started to eat in comfortable silence.
Like she said, the food was delicious, but Hunter could sense that Delilah had a lot on her mind. He didn't bother to urge her to talk since he knew she was going to do so when she was ready. Instead, he savored the meal as he waited for her to gather her thoughts.
Finally, she put down her fork and looked at him, her eyes searching his. "So, I've been thinking about how to tell you everything on my mind, or rather, where to start from," she started, and he nodded.
"Have you figured it out now?" He asked, and she sighed.
"Well, I found out why Hunter is marrying Chloe," she said, her voice steady but low.
