As the announcement echoed through the auditorium, students began to file out, checking their phones for room assignments. David and the group remained seated, quietly scanning their devices.
"I'm in Building 3, Room 206," David said after checking his phone. "What about you, Yuna?"
"My room is in Building 1, Room 304," Yuna replied, her voice tinged with sadness. It had been a long time since they had been together, and they were very reliant on each other's company. The thought of being separated, even briefly, weighed heavily on both of them.
Suddenly, a sharp voice interrupted their conversation. "You've got to be kidding me! I have to share a room with this bitch?" Lily's frustration rang out across the room, drawing the attention of the remaining students. She had discovered that Yuna was her roommate, and she wasn't happy about it.
"Who are you calling a bitch, you bimbo?" Yuna shot back, standing abruptly, her fists clenched.
