While pondering, suddenly a buzzing sound seemed to be coming from afar.
At first, the sound was very faint, like a mosquito flying.
Gradually, the sound grew louder, and it was somewhat ethereal.
It moved around, sometimes above his head, sometimes by his ears, sometimes in the distance, and sometimes nearby.
His temples began to throb repeatedly with pain.
"What the hell is this?"
Chu Yi, not one to believe in superstitions, lightly tapped the back of his head again.
This tap, however, didn't reduce the symptoms; instead, it made them even worse.
The buzzing sound didn't seem to grow louder, but the positions it changed around Chu Yi became very rapid.
It was now buzzing on the left side of his ear, then on the right, occasionally above his head, sometimes loud, sometimes soft, fleeting yet so real.
"Like a ghostly presence."
That was the only way Chu Yi could describe it.
