As soon as they saw Li Guangli, the villagers' faces changed immediately and they headed straight towards him.
"I heard that everyone agreed to start the mining project yesterday, so today I brought my team to survey the land. It won't take many days before we can start work, and at that time, we'll first pay a contracting fee to the village," Li Guangli said, apparently oblivious to the displeasure on the villagers' faces.
"Pah, you damn trickster," someone spat out.
"Truly the heart of a wolf and the lungs of a dog, harboring evil thoughts and trying to kill all of us in the village."
"Get the hell out of here, or I'll open your head with a brick right this instant!"
Upon hearing this, Li Guangli's face turned pale.
"What's going on, everybody? Didn't I explain everything to you yesterday? I'm not a swindler; I genuinely want to help everyone get rich," he protested.
No sooner had he finished his words than a glob of thick spit landed squarely on his face.
