Liu Shishi was startled, but before she could react, a familiar voice rang out.
"Sister Shishi, don't be afraid, it's Xiaoshuai!"
Liu Shishi's eyes lit up. When she saw it was indeed Wang Xiaoshuai, she threw herself into his arms, tears in her eyes as she said, "Xiaoshuai, you little rascal, why have you come back again? Are you out of your mind?"
"Sister Shishi, I'm hungry, give me something to eat," Wang Xiaoshuai said, and he grabbed the freshly stir-fried green peppers and eggs and wolfed them down, seemingly wanting to lick the plate clean.
Liu Shishi watched him, unable to hold back her tears any longer.
"Slow down, there's no need to rush. Zheng Hua and the others are still looking for you in the mountains; they won't be back so soon," Liu Shishi said as she served Wang Xiaoshuai another bowl of rice.
Then, for safety, she carried the food and signaled Wang Xiaoshuai to follow her back to her bedroom to eat.
