Mira noticed Zamian still at her words and immediately regretted saying them.
"I... I—" she began, but Zamian cut her off.
"Sleep now," he said firmly, his tone leaving little room for argument.
"But I'm not feeling sleepy," she protested, her voice tinged with a mix of defiance and uncertainty. "You're leaving tomorrow, and I don't know when you'll be back. Let me stay a little longer... besides, it's still too early to sleep," she added, her voice softening, almost pleading.
Mira had spoken so freely that it made Zamian's lips tug up slightly. She didn't want to sleep; her heart ached at the way he had dodged her question. Even though she regretted asking, at least she had said it—she needed answers. But he had avoided it, leaving her feeling frustrated and disappointed.
