As I slowly regained consciousness, I found myself tied to a pole, a confusing and alarming situation to find myself in. My mind was fuzzy as I tried to remember what had happened.
"How long was I out?" I wondered,
my thoughts racing as I tried to piece together what had occurred. As I looked around, I noticed the robed figure, who was drawing a circle on the ground that resembled those circles in magic movies, but there was a sense of malevolence emanating from this one.
As the hooded figure finished drawing the sinister circle, he turned to face me, his voice cold and calculating. "You woke up quickly, Mr.Sin he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "What a strong person you are."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as he spoke my name, my confusion and fear intensifying. I tried to gather my thoughts and my courage, before speaking up.
"Who are you? How do you know my name? And what have you done with my wife?"
The robed figure seemed to repeat himself, a sense of urgency in his voice.
"Your wife, yes, yes, your wife, Mr.Sin" he said. "But now is not the time. Look!" He gestured towards the now finished circle with a hint of satisfaction in his voice. "I have finished my preparations with all thanks to you."
I watched with confusion, my heart racing as he mentioned something about opening a gate.
As the robed figure continued to chatter, I desperately strained against the ropes, trying to loosen their grip and free myself. I could only catch fragments of his words, his voice filled with a twisted glee that sent shivers down my spine. All I could focus on was the rope, working my fingers and wrists as best I could to undo the knots.
In my state of desperation and panic, I gritted my teeth and made a difficult decision. I forced my thumb back and twisted it, feeling a sharp pain as the bone snapped. It was incredibly painful, but I had done this before due to an old injury, and I knew it would be my best chance to break free from the ropes that bound me.
As soon as I broke free from the ropes, I wasted no time in acting. I lunged for the knife that lay not far away on the ground, grabbing it in a firm grip. I then turned to the figure with the hood, anger and determination in my voice.
"Enough with the nonsense! Tell me what this is all about, where is my wife, and what gate are you talking about?"
The hooded figure suddenly stopped his chattering, his expression turning to one of annoyance and offense.
"Oh, Mr.Sin," he replied in a mocking tone,
"All you think about is your wife. You have ruined the romantic atmosphere here. Don't you see? This is the moment we have been waiting for. The gate is about to open, and you're preoccupied with your wife."
My disgust grew as I listened to the hooded figure, the thought of some perverted ritual fueling my anger.
"Are you a pervert?"
I snapped back, my face twisting into a snarl. "Damn monsters and perverts. Am I in a nightmare or hallucinating?"
My words were interrupted as I noticed the ominous red glow that emanated from the circle on the ground, my breath catching in my throat as it began to open. I realized this was not a nightmare or a hallucination, but a terrible reality.
"This is not a nightmare or a hallucination," the man replied casually, a hint of excitement in his voice. "This is reality. The gateway to the other side is opening. All we need now is you-"
I could hardly believe the words he was saying, my mind racing to try and understand the situation. "What do you mean, 'you'?" I asked, my voice shaking with anger.
The hooded man reached into a pocket and withdrew a small laboratory tube filled with a substance that looked like blood. His face twisted into a sadistic grin, and he began to laugh uncontrollably.
"With this, we will open the gate, Mr.Sin! You will witness history!"
Without a second thought, I quickly took action. Despite the exhaustion from my wounds and pain, I pushed forward, adrenaline overriding all of it. I charged towards him, intending to end this madman's plans once and for all.
The knife sank deep into the man's stomach, his face immediately turning white with shocked terror as he watched. Despite the pain and the black blood flowing from his wound, he ignored it and instead began screaming hysterically at the sight of the shattered tube on the ground. "No, no!" he cried, "All the blood spilled out!"
I watched in shock and horror as the man, who had previously been human, twisted and contorted before my eyes. His eyes turned completely black and his hand transformed, growing long, sharp nails that dripped with a dark, inky substance. With a crazed expression, he unleashed an attack, but I was able to deflect it and drive the knife deep into his hand. The man let out a blood-curdling scream of pain, the glow from the circle intensified to a deep red, bathing the entire church in a nightmarish hue.
Suddenly, without warning, the glow intensified even more before quickly dimming completely. I blinked, disoriented and confused. As my vision cleared, I realized that the man and I were no longer in the church. We appeared to be in a dark, desolate space that seemed to go on forever. The change was so sudden and drastic that it left me reeling, desperately searching for any clues as to where I now was and how to return to familiar surroundings.
"Where is this.." I thought
I felt a strange void around me, as if my limbs no longer existed and I existed only as pure consciousness. It was a disconcerting feeling, to feel so detached from my own existence. Time seemed to lose all meaning in this dark, endless space. Whether moments or hours had passed, I could not tell. I floated in this state, without any physical sensations, desperately waiting for something to happen or simply to wake up from this surreal nightmare.
As I continued to float aimlessly in this dark space, a faint, distant voice slowly began to register in my consciousness. I could barely make out the words, but they seemed to pull me closer, guiding me towards some unknown destination.
Suddenly, the darkness around me dissolved, and I was transported to a scene that seemed all too familiar. I found myself sitting at a dining table, facing the woman I loved more than anything, my wife. She looked at me with concern in her eyes, repeating,
"Honey, what is wrong with you? Why are you distracted? Did something happen?"
My mind reeled at the sudden change in scenery, and I was completely bewildered by the sudden appearance of my wife in front of me. I wondered how it was possible, and if I was merely dreaming a terrible nightmare.
I quickly regained my bearings and responded, my voice filled with relief and confusion.
"I must have been dreaming a terrible nightmare," I said to her.
"But how is this possible? How are you here, and what is happening? I was just in a dark space, and now I am here with you."
My wife took my hand gently, her touch reassuring and filled with love. "Honey," she said softly, her voice filled with comfort, "It must have been a terrible nightmare. You're safe now."
I looked into her eyes, finding solace in her presence and her words. I wanted to believe her, but the memory of the dark place and the strange events that led me here lingered in my mind.
I smiled warmly at her, feeling a wave of love and gratitude wash over me. I gently placed my hand on top of hers and gave it a firm squeeze, then looked deeply into her eyes. "Thank you," I said softly.
"Thank you for being my rock, my support, and my everything. I love you more than words can express."
As I stared at my wife, her hand suddenly grew cold beneath mine. My brows furrowed in confusion as her voice suddenly changed, becoming cold and lifeless.
"Then Why didn't you save me?" she asked in a tone that sent chills down my spine.
"Why weren't you there for me?"
I felt a sense of dread wash over me, as if I was caught in a twisted nightmare that seemed increasingly real and terrifying.
My body tensed, a mix of shock and confusion coursing through me. I tried to pull my hand back from my wife's, but her grip had tightened, and her cold touch sent shivers down my spine. Desperately trying to make sense of the situation, I asked her in disbelief,
"What do you mean? What's wrong with you? Honey Please, snap out of it!"
My body temperature plummeted as the cold sensation spread from my wife's hand, rapidly spreading throughout my entire being. It felt like an icy chill had invaded my soul, sapping the warmth and life from me.
Panic and fear filled me as I tried to yank my hand back, but it was no use. I called out to my wife, my voice filled with terror and desperation.
" Margaret What is happening? Why are you doing this?! Margaret !"
