Both Scorched Earth and Storm of Thunder Clouds were area attack abilities, but they had some differences. Storm of Thunder Clouds was more versatile in function, starting with the type of damage. Scorched Earth inflicted ground damage, which meant enemies would be safe once they flew into the air, but Storm of Thunder Clouds struck down lightning from above, so even airborne enemies would be damaged.
