"Why me?"
Although Dickinson's reason seemed very plausible, Roger found it hard to believe.
This guy had been alive in the Bordeaux region for who knows how many years, with his body changed several times. Roger didn't believe there were no issues the first two times, only on the third.
It seemed a bit too coincidental.
"It is a measure of last resort."
"I once knew a person from another world just like us. The first two times, it was with his help that I completed the body swap."
Dickinson shrugged.
"Unfortunately, an accident occurred during the last body switch, and he died."
"If I hadn't met you, then I would have had to seek the help of others. Of course, there is another reason why I chose you."
Dickinson leaned forward slightly, and a subtle oppressive force suddenly enveloped the space.
"That is because you are currently quite weak, comparatively speaking, easier to control."
"Heh."
Roger chuckled coldly.
"Thank you for your candor."
