Every hair on my body stood on end as a tremendous sense of crisis swept over me, a feeling akin to being the focus of a ferocious beast lurking in the dark.
The rhythm of my attack disrupted, I couldn't help but glance towards the source of the impending danger.
The first thing that caught my eye was a pair of massive, jet-black antlers, followed by robust muscles and a solid body wrapped in a piece of grey tattered cloth. Had it not been for the deer's head, I might have mistaken it for a grotesquely large humanoid monster.
