The two of them didn't go anywhere that morning, just stayed home and affectionately had breakfast together.
Then they cozied up together on the divan, chatting.
Xie Xiao was lying down; Luo Yanran, held in his arms, looked out at the rather ordinary view.
Xie Xiao whispered, "Next year we can move into our new place. I went to see it again recently. Once Uncle's Ferris wheel is built, we'll be able to see it from our place. It'll definitely be beautiful at night."
Imagining that scene, Luo Yanran's eyes happily curved into crescents, "I wish Dad would speed it up, but that's not realistic."
"It's okay, we have plenty of time to enjoy the view." Xie Xiao said with a smile, then went on to whisper about other things.
He had been so busy lately that it had been a long time since they last had a proper chat.
They both lacked a presence in the other's work and in parts of life the other wasn't part of.
Now they were taking this time to slowly fill in the gaps.
