"Your Majesty Merlin, you are late."
Cersei looked toward the far end of the field, watching row after row of heads tossed into the air and then smash back to the ground, blood splashing like raindrops. Her expression remained undisturbed, as if it weren't her entire family being decimated, but simply turned her head back with a slight frown to watch Merlin.
"It's well beyond the agreed time," she said slowly, "The more we delay, the more likely we are to be exposed. Did you encounter an enemy?"
According to the original plan, Merlin should have acted before dawn, just as the Royal Family entered the shadow passage, yet now, day had fully broken, and the nobles and members of the Knight Order had all emerged from the shadow passage, nearly out of Farol's radiative range.
"An unexpected delay occurred," Merlin sighed helplessly, his purely white pupils still holding hints of dread and fear as he gently shook his head, "A very serious delay."
