Most of the Circle of Truth had arrived.
When they saw the automatic factory start up, and gun barrels poured out of the assembly line like cornstalks from the ground, the Elders were all stunned.
It was too fast; by comparison, Durin producing five gun barrels at a time, though speedy by other craftsmen's standards, was laughable next to the automated factory.
They were utterly incomparable.
Old Philo was the first to come over and shake hands with Durin.
"I can't believe it, they all said you've changed in the Human World, become too worldly; many elders were shaken, unsure whether letting you go was right or wrong, but today you've presented this secret before the Circle, and our wavering seems especially foolish."
After he finished, he opened his arms and embraced Durin: "Before I become too old, I will propose that you succeed me; a child as selfless as you not entering the Circle would be a loss for the entire Eastern Elven Territory."
Durin smiled.
