The chef of the Carefree Palace personally pushed the vegetarian noodles his Majesty had requested.
It was now close to noon, and his Majesty had been in the library with the head of the secret police for quite some time, long enough that all the princes had noticed something was amiss.
Fortunately, the problem was just that, a problem. The chef who walked in pushing the cart saw his Majesty smoking by the stove, while that old fish from the secret police came over and said, "Leave it to me."
"The princes are quite concerned," the chef asked tentatively—spending a long time as a chef teaches you that you often shouldn't feign ignorance, especially when neither his Majesty nor the princes turn a blind eye.
"Let them all come in," his Majesty said.
"You go and let them in," Fischer said after taking over the cart.
The chef nodded, left the study, and approached the corner of the hallway where he saw the four princes: "Your Highnesses, his Majesty invites you in."
