Watching the carriage depart, Alice hummed a tune—exactly the one that Durin had altered for the documentary.
"Alice, how did the contact go?" Lady Rolyn watched the departing carriage and asked her granddaughter.
"I've been accepted by young Mr. Durin's ally, Miss. Mr. Durin and the old assassin confirmed their acquaintance, and he said he would make me a new ring." At this point, Alice looked at her grandmother, "What do you think, Grandmother, should I wear it on my ring finger?"
"I remember you're not fond of nobility." The elderly woman smiled as she opened the carriage door.
"But Mr. Durin is different, he is so outstanding. Today he invited me to become his Singer, he seems not to understand what such an invitation means for a Singer, but I agreed." Alice jumped onto the carriage and once seated, she looked at her grandmother who had just climbed in.
