It turned out that the Forest Masters were quite wealthy. As soon as the competition ended on the second day, a Forest Master came over expressing a desire to purchase weapons.
This led Durin to sigh with emotion—look, the old War Clans of the ancient hordes have plenty of money. When they buy things, they want the best, whereas Peckla's new split horde is barely better off than starving ghosts.
But then again, with Durin's support, this new horde of Peckla's has improved a lot. Most of the adults who used to work for other hordes have now returned and they are currently working for Durin—the task is to establish new-style manors.
Manors are good. Just look at the Foresty Land, it's all dark soil, perfect for growing wheat. Even the hill slopes can be used to plant tubers. There's bound to be a bountiful harvest every year.
