When Durin, accompanied by Astrid, arrived at the banquet, he saw Old Enrique smoking in the snow with Kakato, accompanied by a Grassland Elf who was unfamiliar, but seemingly young—his ear pigment was a giveaway.
Not as pristine as the children of Durin's generation, but at least not an old man like Old Enrique.
After ushering Reed into the hall first, Durin approached, "Why are you standing outside?"
"Come, Durin, let me introduce you. This is Andabi Sasar Peru," Old Enrique introduced the strange, young counterpart by his side.
"Hello, Mr. Andabi," Durin extended his hand generously for a handshake.
"They say Lord Durin is magnanimous, and indeed, it is the truth after seeing it firsthand," Andabi nodded with a smile.
"I'm just lucky," Durin chuckled, but instinctively felt something was amiss.
Indeed, something was very amiss. Both Old Enrique and Kakato were Elders, but fundamentally, they were not alike, so why were they standing together today?
