The day had not yet dawned, and Durin had already woken up.
Because Lina had arrived, the little female dragon flapped her wings and perched on the balcony. When Durin drew the curtains, she was scanning the room with the infrared vision characteristic of Dragonkind.
"Why are you awake? I clearly came quietly," Lina questioned, a hint of doubt in her eyes.
"I sensed it when you flapped your wings as you descended from the sky," Durin turned his head, signaling the startled Melinda to keep quiet.
Though Melinda couldn't see the visitor clearly, she saw Durin's reassuring gesture and lay back down.
"It seems I've come at an inconvenient time," Lina rarely pouted.
Durin laughed and picked her up, "It's alright, the night is long, but speaking of which, you've gained weight."
