The layout of the first floor of the library was quite intriguing.
Entering from the main door was an open hall, devoid of any objects.
There were two rows of tables on either side of the hall for reading.
The perimeter of the hall was lined with dense shelves of books, obstructing most of the view inside.
But directly above both sides of the hall on the first floor were two platforms, each with many more bookshelves, and along the edge of each platform was another row of tables.
The platforms couldn't be considered a second floor, they were more like a half-level addition to the first floor.
The hostages were corralled by the hijackers onto the half-level on the left.
Thor and the Wasp were urging the hostages to move the bookshelves near the windows to eliminate the possibility of the police peering in.
The arrival of seven new hostages didn't attract the attention of Thor and the Wasp; they just glanced over and continued focusing on their task.
