Hexia returned to the kitchen downstairs, began preparing tonight's dinner, and thought about the past events in the family.
Because of the significant age difference between the sisters, she hadn't played much with her older sister as a child, and it was mostly their mother who kept her company. Her mother seemed to have poor health, often falling ill. Perhaps that was why they weren't born together.
Reflecting on life's matter, her mother's personality really was simple. It was as if she had seldom stepped into society, akin to a sheltered young lady, rarely arguing with others or haggling, and she didn't seem to have much sense of the value of money either.
It was a pity that her father had gone missing. Otherwise, she could have asked him how he had managed to win over her beautiful mother. Compared to her, Dad was just too ordinary.
