The towering trees rose slowly like giants, their thick branches sweeping down with whooshing sounds. Despite the apparent danger, Sha Lin didn't hurry to dodge the attack. Instead, her gaze burned intensely as she stared at Emity. With one hand shaped like a claw, she aimed for Emity's neck, adamant about seizing her opponent's vital point before the branch could hit her.
Since the distance between them was already very close, Emity didn't have much time to react. The lantern flame in her hand suddenly flared up, sending a wave of fire towards the oncoming Sha Lin.
In the exploding wave of fire, deep red nails extended out to grab the arm in front of her. Then, her other hand seized Emity's throat and lifted her. A chilling and terrifying magic power spread up and down Emity's body through her neck, leaving her as cold as if she had fallen into an ice cave, unable to move.
