After the astonishing battle between Tilan and Seraphiel came to an end, the second match featuring Maidi and Klentchin seemed much more subdued.
The Songstress line didn't have much of an advantage in combat, and it was partly due to luck that Maidi made it to the final eight. In fact, there were several students who were eliminated who were no less capable than her, but that's just how the competition rules worked. It would be too time-consuming for the Winter Festival Tournament to let every student compete in a points-based rotation; it would probably take more than a month to complete.
However, despite some discrepancies in luck, there wasn't much controversy over who the champion was; as long as you kept winning, that was enough.
