After chatting for a while and delivering the medicine to Ye Tongtong, Zhang Xiaofan took his leave with a solemn reminder.
As dusk fell, Zhang Xiaofan drove his tricycle back to the village.
By the time he got home, the sky had turned completely dark.
"Xiaofan, that Dr. Miao came by again this afternoon and stayed for a while."
"She seemed really concerned about you and kept asking about you,"
Zhang Dalei said.
"Grandpa, you didn't tell her everything, did you?"
Zhang Xiaofan asked.
"You rascal, you're not putting in enough effort to find a wife. Now, when a fine girl comes knocking on our door, not just once but multiple times, how can Grandpa not lend you a hand?"
Zhang Dalei gently patted Zhang Xiaofan's head as he spoke.
"Grandpa, of course I'll find a wife, but I can't just cast the net willy-nilly! And then tell all my business to other people, right?"
Zhang Xiaofan's voice got softer as he faced his grandfather.
