Chapter 9 - Chapter 7: The Divine Doctor Tells Fortunes 4

Due to her own body, she had already lost three children. Remembering the words of those doctors, her body could no longer withstand being pregnant. To conceive this child, she paid a great price, even keeping it a secret from her husband for fear that he would not want the child once he knew. Married to her husband for five years, she knew how much he longed for a child, but she was a disappointment, having miscarried several times accidentally, and now she could not bear to lose this one.

The servant supported the frail young beauty, glaring at Qin Qin before whispering in the young beauty's ear, "Madam, please don't believe her. What does she know? Haven't you always been taking medicine? Isn't the child in your womb still well right now? Please don't scare yourself."

Hearing the servant's words, the young beauty finally calmed down. Looking at Qin Qin, she was unwilling to believe this girl yet always felt that this girl was not that simple, so she stopped to hear what she had to say.

"Probably no one in this world can cure Madam's body, nor has the ability to save the fetus in Madam's womb. Luckily, you have met me. I can save the child in Madam's womb. The reason I have talked so much today is because I have seen the many good deeds Madam has done; I do not wish such a kind Madam to be childless," Qin Qin knew she was not convincing in her present state, and said in a mild manner.

"What nonsense are you talking about? Who are you to speak about our lady? Madam, please don't listen to her, let's hurry back. This girl does not look like a good person at all; you must not believe her."

The servant supported the young beauty and directly cursed at Qin Qin with cold anger.

She was not a good person? Simply speaking the truth made her not a good person? It seemed that fortune-telling was not as simple as she had imagined. After all, people here would not believe that someone as young as she could tell fortunes; it was her own misjudgment.

The young beauty looked at Qin Qin calmly, only to see her standing there silently, "Let's go back."

The servant, triumphant, glared at Qin Qin, certain that Madam would not believe this girl.

"Ah Lan, give this girl five hundred yuan."

The young beauty withdrew her gaze, saying somewhat wearily.

"Madam... You..." The servant was somewhat unwilling but, under the young beauty's indifferent gaze, reluctantly handed over five hundred yuan to Qin Qin.

Qin Qin did not act coyly, directly taking the five hundred yuan. She looked up, her eyes deep as she quietly said to the young beauty, "Thirteen days from now, at noon, there will be an issue with Madam's child. If you believe me, it would be best to have a doctor stay at home, but I cannot guarantee that they can save this child for you."

Having said that, Qin Qin walked past the two, prepared to leave, but at the next moment, she stopped and turned around to look at them, "If Madam wants to save this child, come find me at number 16, Guanyin Town. My name is Qin Qin."

After finishing, Qin Qin left without looking back.

The young beauty stared at Qin Qin's retreating figure, her hand instinctively tightening around her own small belly.

"Madam, let's return. This girl must be a fraudster. Madam has done so many good deeds; heaven will surely bless you and the child in your womb."

...

Qin Qin descended the mountain, took a ride home, but saw that no one was home yet; Qin An had not come back.

As soon as Qin Qin sat down, she felt very uneasy and frowned deeply.

In her past life, her sixth sense had been very accurate, allowing her to avoid many disasters. The last inexplicable discomfort had been because her senior sister murdered her. Even though her sixth sense had warned her to be careful, she had not been on guard because it was her senior sister; she had never imagined that her dearest senior sister would kill her.

After sitting for quite a while, feeling increasingly distressed, Qin Qin stood up and walked out the door, rushing towards the market in Guanyin Town.

Following her memory, Qin Qin arrived at the market in Guanyin Town. Just as she reached the market, she saw a scene that darkened her eyes.

Not far away, Qin An was surrounded by a few young thugs, one of whom was even viciously kicking Qin An's battered tricycle while two others aggressively shoved him. The frail and disabled Qin An kept retreating, his voice weak in an attempt to plead for mercy from the trio.

The three young hoodlums cornered Qin An without the slightest compassion for his disability, instead they ridiculed him even more.

"Old man, if you know what's good for you, hand over the money. Don't you know this is our turf? If you dare to do business here, you must pay protection and turf fees," one of the thugs with dyed blond hair said rudely, while the other two snickered.

"I... I don't have any money." The business hadn't been good that day, and he had only made a few tens of yuan, so he couldn't give them what they wanted.

Seeing Qin An refuse, a fierce light glinted in the eyes of the three thugs.

"Old man, are you asking for a beating?" The blond hoodlum squinted his eyes and raised his fist viciously.

Qin An raised his left hand and from his pocket, he pulled out five yuan to give to the three of them, "This... this is all I have!"

He knew that they would not let him go today if he didn't give them money.

"Bah, only five yuan? Do you think we're beggars? Since your business is poor today, give me one hundred, and you can make up the rest next time," another thug with red hair said with a cold laugh, revealing yellow teeth.

One hundred yuan?! Qin An was shocked and couldn't help but wryly smile inside. Where would he get one hundred yuan? Even if he emptied his pockets, he'd have barely seventy or eighty yuan. These people were just too despicable.

"I really don't have it? Please let me go, I will give you more next time."

Seeing Qin An stubbornly refuse, the three hoodlums didn't say another word and instead moved to forcibly take the money from Qin An's pocket.

"Stop! Let him go!"

A crisp and clear voice came from behind the four of them.

The movement of the three hoodlums halted, and they turned to see who had spoken, then a lecherous grin spread across their faces.

"And who might this be? It's actually a woman!"

The blond thug eyed up Qin Qin, who had stepped in front of Qin An, and noticing that the girl in front of him was quite pretty, lustful thoughts arose within him.

Qin An, seeing Qin Qin standing in front of him, was startled and quickly grabbed her hand with his good left one, pulling her behind him, "Why are you here? Quickly leave this place!"

Qin An's tone was filled with urgency and concern, all of which Qin Qin heard loud and clear. Her heart was somewhat conflicted. It seemed like no one had ever cared for and worried about her this much, not even the closest senior sister and mentor she once had. This man, so insignificant and even bullied by others, instinctively thought first of her. Could this be what fatherly love feels like?!

Qin Qin didn't hear anything else Qin An was saying; her gaze was fixed on the urgent, worried chastisement that showed on Qin An's aging, dark face.

"I came to find you! Let's go back," Qin Qin spoke softly, her tone gentler than ever before.

"Go back? Little girl, your dad hasn't paid up yet. Actually, if there's no money, that's okay too!"

The red-haired thug sneered, stretching out his hand to reach past Qin An to touch Qin Qin.
