Mingshu was startled and looked up to see Madam Ruan standing under the eaves, holding something in her hands, looking over warmly and with a smile.
Upon noticing Mingshu had spotted her, she walked over.
Mingshu felt a wave of embarrassment, muttering secretly to herself, hoping that Madam Ruan hadn't heard her earlier ramblings.
If she had heard, it would have been a great embarrassment!
But given the distance, she probably hadn't heard.
Madam Ruan showed no change in expression. Mingshu relaxed and as the other party approached, she greeted with a smile, "It's the Prefect's Wife."
Madam Ruan first performed a courtesy, then with a small smile and shake of her head she replied, "My lord flatters me. If you don't mind, you may just call me Ruan Nian."
She had an extraordinary charisma about her, clearly well-educated, very proper in all her interactions, and her speech and behavior gave people a sense of spring breeze.
