Mingshu sat in front of the desk, listening absentmindedly to the person talking beside her, while her peripheral vision kept drifting to Si Chu, thinking her actions went unnoticed.
Si Chu remained undisturbed, watching as Mingshu's face shifted from frustration to discontent, a lively spectacle indeed, as he suppressed a smile at the corner of his mouth.
"What does the garrison commander think of my opinion?" the prefect finished, his eyes turning to Mingshu, awaiting her feedback.
Unexpectedly, there was no response for a while, as she sat with downcast eyes and an unfathomable expression of indifference. The prefect thought he had misspoken and stood there awkwardly, his expression a bit embarrassed.
With a slight upturn of his eyes, Si Chu gradually turned his gaze to Mingshu.
Mingshu was considering whether she should slap the "IOU" onto Si Chu's face with great force later, to help him better recover his memory, when she suddenly heard a low voice at her ear.
