Mingshu occupied her time by watering flowers in the courtyard, where in a corner grew a clump of crabapple trees that almost withered away when Si Chu first moved in. Their growth had been neglected, located in a secluded part, coupled with the approach of winter and the biting cold weather, signalling a self-perpetuating cycle of existence.
Because they hadn't bloomed, Mingshu initially didn't know they were crabapples and mistook them for weeds, until Si Chu casually mentioned them in conversation.
She felt a sense of novelty, could it be that this child actually had knowledge about these plants and flowers?
Si Chu wasn't one to cherish flowers, so it was hard on him to spare thoughts for this crabapple tree amidst his busyness.
Therefore, whenever she had the time, she would water it, and to her surprise, this little thing proved to be very resilient, reviving and spreading its branches and leaves with newfound vigor.
