Seeing the displeasure between her brows, and having previously experienced her cold and merciless demeanor, Yu Tan hurriedly spoke, "Miss has misunderstood. After disembarking from the ship, I happened to encounter a heavy rain. I merely entered the city seeking a place to stay and take shelter from the rain."
As he spoke, he furrowed his brow, "But it is indeed strange, on my way here, not to mention seeing no one, there wasn't even a single inn or teahouse open for business. Just now, hearing voices from this direction, I followed them and unexpectedly ran into the two of you."
His words were a mix of truth and falsehood; taking shelter from the rain was one reason, the other was indeed because of Mingshu.
Through his hands, there had never been a prey that could escape.
