It had not been easy to soothe Madam Ru, and it was only after Mingshu finally came out of the room that she looked up and saw Si Chu leaning against the railing. She rubbed her temples and walked towards him.
"How long have you been waiting? Why didn't you go back to your room?"
She had been so busy that she had almost forgotten Si Chu was waiting outside.
She stretched lazily, lifting her hand to rub the soreness at the back of her neck.
Si Chu turned his head to look at her, his eyes full of indistinct meaning, as he sized her up and down for a while before suddenly saying, "Your behavior just now was quite unexpected."
Mingshu was startled for a moment, then quickly realized he was referring to the scene where she had brandished a knife to threaten someone.
At the time, she hadn't thought much of it, but now that Si Chu had singled it out, Mingshu's face inexplicably heated up, and she inwardly felt it was bad news.
