The door cracked open, and the maid looked up to see the face of the Startling Swan Fairy. She was momentarily dazzled but saw the other display a bewitching smile, "The ground is slippery; I nearly fell just now. Nothing else, thank you for your hard work."
The maid's face turned red; she quickly waved her hands, "It's no trouble at all, it's my duty. I'll be outside, just call if you need anything."
The Startling Swan Fairy nodded with a tender smile and closed the door.
As soon as she turned around, she saw Mingshu, bottom up, huffing and puffing as she tried to climb out the window.
His expression changed, and the corners of his mouth curled up with a smile as he approached silently.
Mingshu believed her sneaky movements went undetected, but the window was quite high. She struggled, her face turning red as she desperately maneuvered her legs, barely managing to hoist one over the sill.
Just then, a ghostly voice came from behind, "Need a hand?"
