Chapter 10 - Acknowledgement

My major goal till now was getting out of this place. Although I was currently safe for now thanks to the System, I couldn't completely depend on it for my and my family's safety.

Due to my involvement with some unknown God, I have become the enemy of some powerful beings who I don't even know anything about.

I desperately needed to increase my strength and for that, I needed to leave this place. Although this place is safe, I can't grow in this pampered environment. I need to experience real-life and death situations and explore the world to properly utilize the System.

For that, I needed to convince my parents to let a child who was 15 years old roam the world. Yeah, Good luck with that!

But, I think god listened to my wish. I learned from my parents that every child of the Grimheart family has to undergo an acknowledgment process where they would go on a journey around the world to make a name for themselves.

Their health status is also checked frequently as losing them is quite a loss for the family.

Today is quite a special day since I will be starting my journey from this day.

I was full of joy when I learned about this information. I didn't know how much time I had until I was exposed to other Gods. I resolved to become powerful and protect my family.

My parents were quite concerned about me since it was my first time stepping out of the city.

They prepared quite a lot of things for me.

Mother gave me a spatial bracelet with 100 cubic meters of space inside it. There were some healing potions and other basic stuff in there.

Father gave me a sword. It was a beautifully crafted sword with intricate design on its hilt and a silver glean in its blade.

My cute little sister gave me some of her candy that nearly made me cry. I'll miss her a lot for sure.

We had a short family time. We talked about my safety, dangers around the world, and some extra stuff.

"Remember to call us, You have the communication orb right?"

"Yes, Mom."

"Be sure to eat properly and stay clean."

"Ok, Mom."

"Never forget my teachings, ok?"

"Ok, Mom."

"Make a lot of friends and enjoy your journey."

"Ok, Dad."

"Brother Brother!, I'll miss you!"

"I'll miss you too, Kia. Brother will bring a lot of gifts for you, ok?"

" sniff sniff Mmm."

Ding

The time for goodbye arrived. I gave a hug to everyone. Mother became emotional and Kiara started crying. Before the situation could stray further I hopped on the carriage and waved them goodbye.

"Goodbye, Mom, Dad, and Kia!"

"Goodbye, Son!"x2

"Goodbye, Brother!"

Amelia's POV

It still feels like yesterday when he used to roam around the house. He would always get hurt and start crying while calling me.

Time sure flies quickly…

Sigh

As I gazed at the carriage, different emotions swelled up inside me. I was feeling sad, worried, and more importantly proud. I hope he matures well and makes a lot of friends on his journey. Be safe, son.

William's POV

Goodbye, Son. Enjoy your journey, make many friends, and always take care of your well-being before others.

Don't worry about us and just be yourself. I hope to hear a lot about you in the coming days. When we meet in the future, I hope to see you stand proud not as the young heir of the Grimheart Family but as Loki Grimheart.

I muttered those words as I looked at the carriage vanishing from my sight.

---

Excitement welled up inside me as I looked forward to my adventures.

"Hmm… I can't use my real name, I need an alias." I pondered to myself.

"Loki from my past world was the name of the God of Mischief. He was an evil god who played many pranks on other gods." I remembered this particular god since he was quite popular.

"Loki may seem fine. Yeah, if someone asks my surname. I'll just inform him Loki Odinson."

The carriage dropped me at the entrance of the city. I thanked him, took a deep look at the Grimheart estate and walked away.

I became a lot stronger in these two years. First, my rank increased to low-silver from mid-iron. Second, I learnt a lot of new skills and also mastered existing skills.

After careful pondering, I decided to apply for the adventure guild and became an adventurer. I took a long road to another city called Dusk City.

The city was bustling with people. Merchants were selling their goods, beggars were begging, and regular citizens were roaming around. The Adventure Guild had a large building and was located near the centre right beside the Mayor's office.

I entered through the guild's entrance as all eyes were on me. I looked quite handsome even after changing my face into black hair, brown eyes and ordinary clothes.

"How may I help you?"

"Excuse me, I would like to apply as an Adventurer." I politely replied to the counter's lady.

"Sure. Which tier would you like to apply for?"

"Rare tier."

"Follow me."

I stood in front of a training ground. A large green beast was growling at me while I listened to the counter lady.

"Sir, to get the Rare tier pass. You need to defeat the Slime wolves."

"Alright."

The chain attached to the wolf was unlocked and it charged at me with high speed.

I unsheathed my sword and vanished.

[Life-Severing Art: Life Extinguish]

Swoosh

A gush of wind flew by and I appeared behind the wolf.

Grrr

It growled slightly and slammed on the floor. It was dead.

I swiftly sheathed my sword and looked at her.

"Congratulations, You are a Rare tier Adventurer now."

She became slightly shocked at my performance and hurriedly congratulated me. I nodded and exited the room.

"Sir, May I know your name?"

"It's Loki Odinson."

She passed me a black card with Rare Tier written on the front and my name written on the back. I thanked her and took the card. The whole incident took around one hour.

Now that I have this card, I can enter the restricted areas easily.
