Tristan's heart beat like a drum, and his eyes widened as he saw dozens of arrows coming from the south and toward the battlefield. It was a terrifying sight.
The arrows hit many soldiers who did not protect their heads with iron helmets.
They were shocked because no one told them to take cover from the arrows. They were too late to hide behind their shields.
"Who shot them?" Tristan said in a panic. "Where did they come from? Why didn't the Commander-in-Chief notice the arrival of those damn arrows?!"
Tristan was angry at his incompetent soldiers. "Where is the reconnaissance team? Why didn't they sniff out those archers?!"
The two knights panicked. Knight Ajax ran fast to the Commander-in-Chief's tent to get information and tell the man that their king was questioning the quality of their kingdom's reconnaissance team.
The attack of dozens of arrows seemed to target all the soldiers fighting on the battlefield.
