In a world where absolute power reigns, the balance teeters on a delicate edge. Here, humanity is divided into distinct categories: Quantums, Weavers, Astral Users, and the Unawakened
Quantums: These extraordinary beings possess the ability to create and destroy life. They can manipulate every atom in the universe, wielding immense power that shapes reality itself.
Weavers: Weavers are architects of their own worlds. With their creative abilities, they construct realms where they reign as gods. However, even their powers have limitations, boundaries they must navigate.
Astral Users: Awakened souls take form within Astral Users. These ethereal entities adapt to any shape, granting their hosts unique abilities. Whether a boon or a curse, their forms prove essential in the struggle for survival.
The Unawakened: Ordinary humans, untouched by awakening, rely on technology—mechs—to enhance their existence. They navigate a world where the three beings intersect, often as outcasts.

As my teacher, Mr Son explains this, I start to feel worried. Only a few people who have been awakened get into the top academies, the likes of Pinnacle Academy, Nexus School of Excellence, Apex Training Institute some of the best in Aurora Metropolis. Today's January 27th, Awakening day's one week away. I was still in deep thought when one of my classmates, Kieran Pierce snapped me back into reality. "The bell's gone for recess" he said staring at me while I was talking to myself. "Oh thanks" I said, realizing that I've been talking to myself for a while now. I has always known Kieran. Ever since I had moved to Willow Creek he had been the only person I had classified as my friend. Most kids just think of me as weird, I didn't care what they thought of me anyway. Ever since then it had always been Kieran and I.
"So what were you thinking about?" he asked me while we were heading down the hallway. I paused for a few seconds then asked him "Do you think that you'll be awakened?" He waited for a second and asked me "why'd you think that?" I replied "I was just thinking, Awakening day's next week so there's a chance that most of us get powers within next week, but have you ever thought that what if..., what if you don't get awakened, how'd you get into a good academy?" Kieran thought for a few seconds before answering"that you Xander you're overthinking this, so what if you don't get awakened, there's still a chance that you'd get in said scholarship, Keep an open mind, there's still a chance you'd get awakened. You could become a Quantum user for all I know, chillax" He looked reassuring but I didn't buy it "Alright, we're late for class" I said trying my best to forget about it.
School was over in a few hours and I quickly entered a taxi. I was late... Late for my part-time job. In a few minutes I was already at Apex Avenue, the busiest place in Aurora Metropolis. It was filled with individuals from all across the country, With its tall skyscrapers, the flashing lights from the zooming cars on the freeway to the numerous amounts of people mumbling to themselves, it was the business epicenter of the city. I manouvered my way through the busy streets till I was at The Daily Grind, the most popular coffee shop in the city. I quickly made my way into the store to start my job as a barista. I'd started working a few months back to gather my tuition money but at this rate, if I don't get awakened I won't make enough money to pay for tuition and purchase a mech at the same time
I had just started working when Joe walked in. Joe had become a regular here at The Daily Grind and I had started to become his favorite barista. He walked up to my table with a friendly smile on his face. "What's up Joe" I said putting a mug on the counter preparing for his order. "I'm good" he responded sitting on the counter chair. "Busy day?" I asked "Yeah, that's why I'm here". "Should I prepare the usual" "You know me too well" he replied with a smirk on his face. As I was preparing Joe's latte, I suddenly started thinking about awakening day, the possibility of not getting awakened, and the cost of getting into a top training institute if that happens. I completely forgot about the latte I was making and by the time I had snapped out of it, I had subconsciously spilled the entire thing on Joe. "Oh my God, I'm sorry I didn't mean to spill it" I said quickly grabbing a paper towel to wipe it off the counter. "Don't worry, it was an accident" he said looking as calm as ever. "I'm sorry, I was carried away" I continued. "Pre Awakening jitters, isn't it?" I simply nodded as I dabbed the rest of the spilled latte off the table "How bout I get you another one, on me" He smiled and continued what he was doing while I trashed the damp paper towels.
As I walk home after work, still thinking about the spilled latte incident, I find himself standing in front of the prestigious "Apex Training Institute". The institute's sleek, modern building seems to loom over me, its gleaming surfaces reflecting the city's vibrant lights. The Apex Training Institute is renowned for its rigorous programs, designed to hone the skills of those with extraordinary abilities. I've heard whispers about the institute's elite trainers, who push students to their limits, and the cutting-edge facilities that simulate real-world challenges. As I gaze up at the building, I start to feel an inexplicable pull, as if the institute is beckoning him to explore its secrets. I think to myself, "Just one week..." I look up to stare at the building for one last time and then start to head home
