Chapter 12 - Clash Of Ackermans

Night had descended upon the palace, casting a dark shadow over the chaos that had erupted. The sound of shattering glass and distant cries filled the air as Eren and Levi raced against time to stop Kenny's escape.

Year 843

"The hell..." they stood there shocked, ready to face their foe. "Let's go..." Eren shouted, sprinting towards the exit of the massive hall. Levi followed close behind, his mind still reeling from Kenny's sudden ambush.

As they ran, an injured military police soldier stumbled into their path, confusion etched on his face. "Captain Levi... they've successfully looted a lot of the empire's treasure..." Levi's grip on the soldier's shoulders tightened as he demanded, "Where are they headed now?"

The soldier's weak voice replied, "To the rooftop..." before collapsing into Levi's arms. Eren didn't hesitate, shattering an expensive window to create a shortcut to the rooftop. "Using the stairs will take too long, and Kenny might escape..." Levi nodded in agreement, and together they began their ascent, their movements swift and synchronized.

As they climbed, the chaos below grew more intense. The sound of gunfire and screams echoed through the palace, a testament to the destruction caused by Kenny's squad. The king, safely ensconced in his overprotective room, was surrounded by a battalion of military police officers, including Niles Dock and Erwin Smith. But Eren and Levi were on their own, relying on their skills and teamwork to take down the Anti-Personnel Control Squad and reclaim the stolen treasure.

Finally, they reached the rooftop, where Kenny's squad awaited them, their weapons at the ready. The night air was electric with tension as the two sides faced off, their fates hanging in the balance.

As the remaining Anti-Personnel Control Squad finished loading the loot into the unregistered cart, they turned their attention to Eren and Levi, who were now surrounded. The squad's omnidirectional mobility gear gleamed in the moonlight, their weapons at the ready.

Without warning, a tall figure with a cowboy hat appeared out of nowhere, delivering a powerful kick that sent Eren and Levi flying backward. Their feet scraped against the rooftop, but they managed to maintain their balance.

"Tch..." they muttered in unison, readying themselves for battle. With swift movements, Levi and Eren shed their black coats, untied their bows, and folded their sleeves, preparing for battle. They knew the Anti-Personnel Control Squad wouldn't hold back, and they needed every advantage to take them down. The discarded coats fluttered to the ground, a symbol of their willingness to shed their past and fight for their future. With their mobility increased and their focus sharpened, they stood ready to face the incoming forces including the sadistic bastard that stood in front of them, their eyes blazing with determination.

Kenny sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "So, the brats have united, have they?" He brandished two special weapons, capable of firing multiple bullets at once.

The squad closed in, their weapons trained on Eren and Levi. The cowboy-hatted figure stood tall, his eyes gleaming with a sinister intensity. The stage was set for a fierce battle, with only the strongest emerging victorious.

Just as the menacing squad was about to pounce on Eren and Levi, Kenny called out to Traute Caven with a sadistic glee. "Traute, fall back! Let me have some fun with these two brats. I'm eager to see what my bloodline is capable of."

Traute Caven, the captain of the Anti-Personnel Control Squad, was a vision of striking beauty. Her long blonde hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, framing her heart-shaped face and piercing blue eyes that shone like stars in the night sky. Her tall, athletic build exuded a quiet confidence, her lean physique honed from years of combat. A smattering of freckles across her cheeks added a touch of whimsy to her otherwise fierce demeanor.

With a curt nod, Traute commanded her squad to retreat towards the heavily loaded cart, its wooden wheels creaking in protest as it lurched forward. The sound echoed through the deserted alleyway, a haunting precursor to the battle about to unfold.

"Now, then," Kenny said, his voice low and husky, "Show me what you're made of, Kuchel's and Karen's kids. Let's see if you have what it takes to survive tonight."

"Eren..." Levi said, his eyes locked on Eren's determined expression. "Kenny's a formidable foe, but I won't tell you to back down. You're an Ackerman, through and through."

Eren nodded, his gaze fixed on Kenny, who was shedding his ODM gear and weapons, ready to engage in hand-to-hand combat. "Well, brats, are you ready?" Kenny sneered, his eyes gleaming with malevolent amusement. "It's been a while since I've fought without weapons... I hope my nephews won't disappoint me."

"Let's go...." With a fierce battle cry,

Levi charged at Kenny, landing a precise punch that was easily blocked. Eren seized the moment, launching a flying kick at Kenny's back, but the veteran warrior anticipated the move, countering with a swift elbow that sent Eren flying to the ground. Dazed, Eren barely regained his footing in mid air, his mind racing. "Who the hell is this guy? One elbow and I'm on my knees!"

As Eren watched Levi and Kenny exchange blows in a blur of movement, his determination ignited. "Wow, this is what a fight between pure Ackermans with awakened powers looks like!" he thought, his eyes wide with awe. His pain subsiding, Eren's smirk grew wider as he charged towards the two combatants with renewed vigor. "I won't be left in the dust!" he shouted, his voice fierce and resolute.

The battle raged on, the three fighters clashing in a maelstrom of fists and feet, their movements a testament to their unyielding spirit and the legendary Ackerman bloodline. The air was electric with tension, each blow landing with precision and power, as if the very fate of the world hung in the balance.

"Now!" Levi called out, his voice slicing through the tense air as he countered one of Kenny's deadly attacks. Eren appeared out of nowhere, his fist glowing with a fierce determination, and landed a clean and powerful strike right at Kenny's stomach. The sound of flesh colliding with flesh echoed through the grim night , accompanied by Kenny's pained grunt: "Agh..."

Levi seized the moment, his eyes blazing with intensity, and connected a precise punch with Kenny's face, sending him crashing to the ground. The sound of Kenny's body hitting the roof was like a crack of thunder, and the saliva dripping from his mouth glistened in the faint moonlight.

Kenny regained his balance, his face reddened from the punch, letting out a maniacal laugh Kenny shouted "Hahahaha... I guess I was taking you guys a bit too lightly." His eyes gleamed with a sadistic intensity as he charged towards Eren, unleashing a flurry of punches. Levi, with a fierce cry, pushed Eren out of the way, successfully dodging a couple of punches but becoming the victim of some of the deadly strikes himself.

"Leviii!" Eren shouted, his voice laced with panic, as Levi collapsed to the ground, struggling to get up. The rooftop was bathed in an eerie silence, the only sound being the heavy breathing of the combatants and the faint rustling of clothes. The moon cast an ominous glow, as if it too was witnessing the intensity of the battle.

"How dare you... YOU BASTARD!" Eren bellowed, charging at Kenny with unbridled fury. Kenny retreated, anticipating Eren's attack, and attempted to land a knee strike. But Eren, his eyes blazing with determination, had already predicted the move and countered with a swift elbow to Kenny's stomach, followed by a powerful uppercut to his chin slamming him on the rooftop.

"Well... don't you think it's a bit unfair, 2 versus 1?" Kenny taunted trying to get up, wiping the blood from his hairy chin. "Maybe I shouldn't go easy on you, brats." Kenny said with a venomous tone, his eyes blazzing with anger and frustration.

Levi, now back on his feet, watched the exchange with a hint of admiration. Eren turned to Levi, concern etched on his face. "You alright, Levi?" Levi nodded, his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity. "I'm fine."

With a fierce battle cry, Levi and Eren charged at Kenny in perfect sync, their movements a blur of coordinated attacks. Kenny countered with swift motions, landing some blows, but the duo's synchronized fighting style made them a formidable force. The battle raged on, each side refusing to yield, their movements a testament to their unyielding spirit and determination.

"Boom!" Kenny yelled, dodging Levi's attack and swiftly counterattacking with a punch to Eren's ribs, followed by a powerful kick. Eren's eyes widened in pain as blood spurted from his mouth, his body crumpling to the ground.

Levi's expression remained steadfast, his voice firm and resolute. "At first, I thought I should hold back against you, Kenny... But now, you're done." The two fighters clashed, their movements lightning-fast and evenly matched, neither gaining the upper hand. Both held back, their reasons hidden behind a mask of determination.

Levi's restraint stemmed from his bond with Eren and Kenny , the last living members of his family. Kenny, too, hesitated, remembering the children of his beloved sisters, whom he had laid to rest with his own hands. The battle raged on, each blow a testament to their unyielding spirit, as they fought to protect what mattered most.

"Attaboy, keep going!" Kenny exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with excitement and fury as he clashed with Levi, each fist connecting with precision and force. The two fighters were evenly matched, their movements a blur of power and skill.

Eren, struggling to get back to his feet, muttered to himself, "I have to... I have to help Levi... I..." But Levi's words cut him off, piercing his heart like a dagger: "Eren... You've fought well...You've made me proud." These words, spoken by the usually stoic Levi, resonated deeply with Eren, who had only ever received acknowledgement from his mother.

With renewed determination, Eren shouted, "Fighttttt!" as Levi and Kenny unleashed a flurry of punches, their faces inches apart, each blow landing with precision and force. Kenny's laughter echoed through the whole palace "Hahahahah... Thinking that Kuchels and Karen's brats would be so strong... Makes me really, really pumped up!" The battle raged on, the two fighters fueled by their unyielding spirit and determination.

In a flash, both Levi and Kenny spotted an opening and seized it, their attacks landing simultaneously with all the strength they could offer. "Here..." they whispered in unison, their faces inches apart, as their blows connected with a loud crack. Blood began to seep from their faces, their eyes locked in a fierce stare. The intensity of their punches was so immense that they both collapsed to the ground, their bodies exhausted and battered.

As the military police closed in, their eyes wide with excktement the only thought that crossed the three Ackermans was,"it's been a while since I fought a worthy opponent", Kenny sneered at Levi, "Tch... Pathetic for humanity's strongest soldier." Levi's gaze remained fixed on Kenny, his voice low and even, "Go... Though you are a mass murderer, I'm giving you one last chance to get away." Eren watched in shock, but his thoughts echoed Levi's sentiment.

With a sly smile, Kenny struggled to his feet, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of gratitude and malevolence. He equipped the ODM gear, his movements swift and precise, ready to face whatever came next. The tension was palpable, the outcome hanging in the balance, as the three fighters stood poised on the brink of a new confrontation.

"Wait..." Eren's voice was barely audible, his eyes fixed on Kenny with a mix of longing and desperation. "Mom... where did you bury her?" Kenny turned back, his gaze locked onto Eren's, his expression a blend of mockery and sadness. "Karen is buried in Wall Rose, near Utopia's graveyard."

Eren's smirk was faint, but determined. "You knew Mom... can you tell me if she wanted anything from me?" Kenny's eyes seemed to cloud over, his voice laced with a hint of regret. "Kid, if I explain, the military police will catch me." Eren's expression remained calm, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "Tch... Fine. Before parting ways with you, she wanted you to live a long life... a life you could be proud of."

Eren nodded, tears escaping his eyes as he whispered, "And Dad... how did he die? He never mentioned that in the letter." Kenny turned away, his voice distant, "You'll know it once you've grown up a little, his tombstone is beside Karen, you impure Ackerman."

With that, he deployed his gear and vanished into the night, leaving the two Ackermans alone on the rooftop confused, "What did he mean by calling Eren impure" same thought crossed both Eren and Levi as they fainted on the spot tired from the reckless fight. The military police arrived, their timing impeccable, as they closed in on Levi and Eren.
