Mia looked over at Claire, her face still clouded with the emotions from the argument with her parents. The heartbreak and awkwardness was still a huge elephant in the room, and Mia knew they needed to do something to break it. She nudged Claire gently on the shoulder and offered a small, encouraging smile.
"How about some dinner?" Mia suggested softly. "We could use Matt's culinary skills in the kitchen."
Claire looked at Mia, her eyes still shimmering with unshed tears, and after a moment, she nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea."
Mia turned to the rest of the group, who had been standing around, unsure of what to do next. "What do you guys think? Ready to help Matt whip up something?"
Andrew, who had been watching the exchange with a concerned expression, nodded immediately. "Absolutely. I'm starving."
Misty barked by Mia's side, seemingly hungry too.
