Chapter 25 - Chapter 26: Quest

The young man handed Zeix a card, smiling politely. "Sir Zeix Elven, here is your merchant card."

Zeix accepted the card with a nod of gratitude. "Thank you," he said, slipping the card into his pocket. He stepped out of the bustling merchant guild into the night, where the city lights bathed the streets in a warm, inviting glow. Making his way back to the inn, he felt a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the days ahead.

Inside the inn, Zeix found a seat at a table and ordered the special of the night. A maid with a cheerful smile soon brought him a steaming steak, a bowl of soup, and a glass of water. Picking up his knife and fork, Zeix took his first bite, savoring the flavors. "Ummmm, it's good," he murmured, thoroughly enjoying the meal.

Later, in his room, Zeix lay on his bed, his stomach full and content. "I think I ate too much," he chuckled softly. Deciding to rest early, he prepared for bed but not before taking a precautionary measure. With a focused expression, he cast a powerful yet invisible barrier around the entire city. "I'll keep this investigation zone up just in case of an attack," he muttered to himself. Feeling secure, he wrapped himself in his blanket and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Zeix stood in a grassy field, ready for his first quest. "I accepted a mission to bring back five horns of Devil Sheep. This shouldn't be too difficult," he said confidently. Spreading his arms, he released a magical skill he had developed—Investigation Zone. The spell allowed him to sense everything within a large radius while simultaneously erasing his own presence.

Within moments, Zeix detected the Devil Sheep grazing nearby. He summoned a fireball and launched it towards the unsuspecting creatures. The fire ball hit those sheep and a big explosion echoed across the field, and Zeix quickly approached the site of the blast. He found the sheep lifeless, their horns intact. "I didn't expect them to die from such a weak attack," he mused, slightly surprised. "Well, whatever works."

Using a precise wind spell, he carefully cut the horns from the sheep and collected them. Opening a portal, he placed the horns inside. "I'll store these in my Anti Inventory," he said, satisfied with his work. "Quest completed. Time to keep moving."
