Chapter 22 - Please, Help Me

They were satisfied with the kitchen and knew that they also ate normal human food. Shane went outside the house from the kitchen door. The first thing he saw was the vegetable garden. "Ah, why didn't I notice that there was a door here?" Shane asked himself.

He was soon walking, and today he would try to get back out of the fence. Arthur was not in the house, he was sure he had gone somewhere. He also wondered why he couldn't get out of here, there must be some magic that kept him from getting out. It all just came to his mind while he was eating breakfast. Werewolves most likely have magic powers.

Continuing to walk, he saw the tall gate where he first entered the forest. "Ah, I was right. Arthur is going somewhere, so the guarding magic is weakened. Now I can get to this gate," Shane said happily.

He paused for a moment. "How can I open it?" he asked as he leaned back to get a better look at the door. The door had no handle to open it.

"Is there a button or lever I have to use to open it?" he asked again to no one in particular.

Shane was confused as to how to open the door. He approached the door and touched it. "How do I open the door?" he asked, still rubbing the door.

"Open the door," he said, but the door didn't open at all.

"Open the door!" said Shane again in a slightly raised voice.

"Tsk!" cried Shane as the door still wouldn't open.

He turned his body around, and after only a few steps, he walked. He also heard the sound of the door opening. Shane immediately hid in a large rock for fear that someone would enter. It turned out to be true, there were about five people who entered.

Shane frowned at the sight of people he'd never seen before. There was one man Shane had seen when Arthur's car drove past people's homes in the forest.

"We should meet with Sir Arthur and discuss that flash. It was no ordinary flash, it was the flash of a pure human," one of the men said.

Shane frowned, "pure human?" he asked, unconsciously making everyone who was walking stop their steps.

"Did you hear it?" asked the person who had just spoken.

"Yes, I heard it," said all four.

Shane immediately held his breath when he realized that these people were werewolves, so their hearing must be sharper even though he spoke in such a small voice. Shane covered his mouth when they seemed to start looking for the source of the sound. He silently chanted that no one could find him. He didn't want to be caught and possibly become their food. He didn't know, were these people as good as Arthur and his subordinates, or were they unable to accept the presence of humans in their neighborhood? Moreover, Arthur's house was entirely fenced in with high walls, so it seemed that their power could not penetrate what was happening inside here.

"There can't be humans, if there were humans, wouldn't Sir Arthur have kicked them out?" asked one of the men.

"That's right, there can't be humans," replied one of the five people who came to Arthur's house.

"Well, let's go see Mr. Arthur," said another man, inviting them to go see Arthur immediately.

After they walked away, Shane breathed a sigh of relief. It was a good thing they hadn't found him. I wonder what would have happened if they had found him. Moreover, from what he heard, Arthur would expel, which meant that everyone who entered this forest was definitely dead.

Shane shook his head. "I have to get out of here before the door closes again," Shane said, and he immediately ran towards the gate.

But unfortunately, not until he reached the gate was the door already closed. Shane shed his body, he failed to get out. He didn't know how to open this gate. This whole place was surrounded by high walls, so he still couldn't get out. "I want out," Shane whispered with his head resting on the gate.

"Did they use magic to open the gate?" asked Shane, still resting his head on the gate.

Shane banged on the gate, annoyed that he didn't have any magic to open the gate. He kept hitting and hitting until suddenly he felt the gate open. Shane immediately moved away from the gate, and when the door felt big enough for him to pass through, he immediately ran out of there.

Shane kept running without looking back, who knows where he had to go to get out of the forest? The atmosphere of the forest in the morning was foggy enough that he could not see clearly where his feet were going until he tripped over a tree root and fell, rolling. Shane reached for anything he could grab, until he felt a large tree root.

Shane opened his eyes that had been closed when he fell. She rounded his eyes because now his body was hanging. He immediately grabbed the root with both hands so that he wouldn't fall into the abyss. He couldn't see how high it was because he couldn't see the bottom. Shane's heart was beating fast. He tried to regulate his breathing because, if he panicked, he might not survive.

After he neutralized his heartbeat, he tried to climb up. He tried to push his body to get up, and finally, he was able to get up. Shane stared back into the abyss with no end in sight, only briefly before he turned his body around and saw a pack of wolves in front of him. Shane rounded his eyes. How could there be wolves in the daytime like this? In his mind, right now, werewolves should only change at night. However, why would they change in the morning like this?

Shane wanted to step back, but behind him was a cliff. Stepping forward, in front of him was a wolf ready to devour him. What should he do at this time, because there is no choice at all, because both will make him die? Shane's eyes also looked at the top of the tree, there were no tree roots that could make him hang on.

Shane looked at the wolves, then kneeled down. "Please don't eat me," Shane begged as he looked at the wolves.

"I was lost here, I was chased by the debt collectors so I could be here. I don't want to bother you guys who live here at all, please help me. I still want to live. Please let me go from here, and if you allow it, please give me directions. The fog is too thick, so I can't see clearly," Shane said in a tone of voice that sounded desperate as he looked at the wolf pack.

Shane then kowtowed, it was all he could think about at the moment. The wolves were human. He was sure that what he said could be understood by them. Besides, even though they were werewolves, he would believe that they still had the heart to help him.
