Damien glances over at the elf as they dash past the fence and into the dense forest, their feet pounding against the uneven terrain, dodging roots and low-hanging branches. The distance between the lab to Joker's lair will take them about twenty minutes of running, unless nothing stands in their way.
"Can't you use a transportation spell?" Damien huffs, his breath coming in short gasps. "I thought elves were supposed to be equipped with that kind of knowledge."
"It's not that simple," he replies between breaths. "Conjuring a transportation spell takes a significant amount of mana, more than you'd think. If I were to cast it now, I'd be drained—useless in the fight that's likely waiting for us with Sylus and his group. I'm not as skilled as Asteri."
