Chapter 15 - STOP!

Bam!

With a loud slam, a bruised Ki-soo hit a table.

His eyes were full of confusion and rage, as he hadn't fully recovered from the beating he had received. Looking up, he could see the other three guys, his henchmen, who were in the same condition as him.

This made him even angrier.

'Damn it!... that transfer student, both his aura and the way he fights… I've never seen anything like it'

"How long are you going to stay like that?"- the girl named Hee-jin, who was also in the room, spoke in an annoyed tone - "You were caught off guard, right? Don't let that happen next time"

Despite the blonde's words, none of the guys present said anything in response.

They could all take this statement as true, but deep down they knew they had been embarrassingly defeated by a single person.

"Come on, guys, it's just one person!"- the girl grew more exasperated by the lack of response - "Are you going to act like this just because one guy beat you up?"

"Can you shut up for a second?!"

Ki-soo couldn't take his older sister's words any longer and suddenly yelled at her, taking Hee-jin by surprise and making her quiet for a moment.

However, the next instant she lashed out at her older brother again.

"What? You got beaten by one person and now you want to take it out on me?"

"Just shut up, Hee-jin, got it?"

Ki-soo, who was reaching his limit from listening to his sister's taunts, stared at her intently with eyes full of rage.

Although Ki-soo never showed much affection for his sister, he always tried to help her with all her whims. And thanks to their father's position, Ki-soo could do almost anything he wanted at school without facing many repercussions.

However, this was the first time he had been humiliated in front of so many people for fulfilling one of his sister's whims!

That's why he was furious, as Hee-jin wasn't even worried about him, only adding salt to the wounds with her words.

Seeing her older brother's gaze, Hee-jin said nothing, just stayed silent for a moment, holding back the frustration she was feeling at that moment.

And even though she didn't show it, she was also frustrated with the beating her brother had received!

However, the reason was different.

She, who had been treated like a princess since she was little, always had everything she wanted at her fingertips, growing up with the idea that anything she wanted could be hers. And when she got to high school, this extended to her friendships and romantic relationships.

However, there was a moment when she couldn't get what she wanted, and that was when she discovered that the boy she liked didn't feel anything for her. Instead, he was interested in Yu Dayun.

This made her target the girl she didn't even know! Since their last year of middle school and throughout high school, she had been determined to make Dayun's life miserable just because she couldn't get the affection of the boy she was infatuated with.

And she could achieve this not only because of her father's position but also because of her brother's influence in high school.

While he wasn't the most feared bully in school, he was the most influential. Even Gunner, the strongest student, had to think twice before acting against Ki-soo.

As silly as it sounds, it was true, as Gunner's mother's business depended in one way or another on Hee-jin's father's decisions.

But now that her brother, who had been the main distraction allowing Hee-jin to do whatever she wanted at school, had been defeated, things were going to change!

Even that transfer student could become the new leader of the school bullies!

And if that happened, then she wouldn't be able to do anything to Dayun anymore?

Damn bitch! This won't end here, Yu Dayun! I won't let you get full of yourself.'

Thinking about this made her frustration grow more and more.

'If only my brother were stronger, he wouldn't have been beaten… wait… stronger?... Of course! I know who can help me.'

"Fine, if you can't do something, I will"

With these simple words, Hee-jin left the room, furiously slamming the door shut.

...........

"You know, I made a bet with the lieutenant that you'd be the first to break the promise not to cause a disturbance. Hehe, I think I won a good amount of money"

"Come on, it's time for you to go. Is there some girl you know around here? I don't want you talking about these things in front of Dayun."

It was the end of the school day, and all the students were leaving. Ijin and Robert were talking near the main gate of the high school while being the center of attention for the students passing by.

Seeing two transfer students, who looked like young models, made most of the girls sigh and the boys showed faces of displeasure.

At first glance, these two seemed like good friends, but if you looked closely, you could notice that Ijin was uneasy with Robert's presence.

"Hey, that's cruel of you" - Robert replied with feigned sadness - "You know I'm not stupid enough to spill that kind of information."

"I know… it's just that when you act like that, it makes me want to punch you" - Ijin responded after sighing.

"Haha, well, you can try" - Robert laughed - "You know I won't be as easy to beat as those kids from this morning"

Ijin only smiled softly at Robert's words, knowing he was telling the truth. While the two had lived in the army barracks, they had often trained and fought hand-to-hand as a training measure for Robert.

Ijin, who had lived on the edge of death, knew that gaining strength and skill in combat was something even many experienced soldiers could never achieve in their lives. Only those who have lived through true hell can attest to that.

However, if he had to make an exception, it would be for this guy who was bothering him at the moment. His rate of growth in strength and skill was unmatched.

He wasn't yet at the level to defeat him and still had much to learn, but his level of growth was abnormal, to say the least.

Did it have to do with the fact that he came from another reality or that his body was something no one knew about?

Ijin didn't know, but he did know that Robert was someone to be feared. Even if it wasn't for his body or his origin, finding him among the corpses of those beasts already said a lot.

Although Robert had denied knowing why he appeared in that place, something told Ijin that the one responsible for killing those beasts was...

"Oppa! Thanks for waiting" - Dayun's voice interrupted Ijin's thoughts.

"Lee sunbae, hello."

"Hello, Dayun" - our protagonist greeted with a smile - "They didn't bother you again, right?"

"N-No… they didn't bother me anymore"

Dayun was still a little embarrassed by what had happened in the morning. However, her embarrassment wasn't because of something bad, but because she didn't know how to look at her brother now, as it was the first time someone had done something like that for her.

"That's good. I hope those guys know their place" - Robert said.

"Yes, I hope so, otherwise..."

"O-Oppa, don't say anything more" - Dayun, with a blushing face, stopped Ijin's words - "Let's just go home."

This made Ijin smile and not say anything more, only nodding his head.

It was in these moments, seeing his sister happy, that he could say he felt some peace in his life.

'What the hell is this romantic atmosphere?... don't tell me these two could end up being… come on man, don't think stupid thoughts.'

At this moment, our protagonist shook his head to stop following that train of thought. It wasn't that he focused on morality and social rules that prevented such things, as in his past life he had seen enough not to be surprised by this. The point was that he knew Ijin would never go down that path… right?

"Hey you, new transfer student, stop right there."

Suddenly, a voice called out from behind, making the three people turn around. What they saw caused different reactions in each of them. For Dayun, her body began to tremble, and fear invaded her face.

For Ijin, only his typical cold and impassive look could be seen. For our protagonist… well, he was still thinking about the possible consequences of what a forbidden relationship between these two siblings would entail.

However, it did pique his curiosity to know what the hell these people were doing here. About ten meters away, Hee-jin was looking at them with a mocking smile, accompanied by the girls who always followed her.

However, this was not what made Dayun tremble with fear, oh no. What scared Ijin's younger sister to her core was the person standing next to Hee-jin.

In the middle of a group of several boys and girls, a redhead stood out due to his evident build.

"C-Cheo… G-Gunner!" - was all Dayun could pronounce.

"You know him?" - Ijin asked.

"Oppa! Please don't fight with him!" - Dayun, in great desperation, grabbed her older brother's arm and spoke to him desperately, almost to the point of crying.

And it was no wonder because the person standing in front of them was none other than Cheo Gunner, the student who had beaten up all the bullies not only in their school but also in other schools with his bare fists! It was even said that he had defeated several gangsters and thugs who had confronted him with weapons, but not even the local mobsters had managed to harm him!

And that wasn't a tale, as she had seen Gunner beat up several professional fighters. Comparing Ki-soo to Gunner was like comparing a child to an adult!

Dayun had heard a rumor that Ki-soo could do whatever he wanted even in Gunner's presence because the latter's mother had received much help from Hee-jin's parents.

That's why, as long as they didn't interfere with Gunner's business, Ki-soo could do whatever he wanted. And seeing him now standing next to her seemed to confirm that rumor.

"Come on, I want you to go and teach him a lesson."

"Shut up, bitch, don't think I'm your stupid brother."

Before Hee-jin, who had a haughty look, could finish speaking, she was silenced by the redhead's words.

"W-What did you say?"

"What you heard. I'm not your dog to do whatever you want. I just owe your father a favor, and I thought this was the best way to repay it" Gunner turned to look directly at Hee-jin with cold eyes. "And don't think the gangsters working for your family can help you, because they already know me and what I'm capable of"

Ki-soo's younger sister instinctively took a step back and remained silent, as fear had now invaded her.

Though these words made her feel offended, she knew she shouldn't say more. Sure, she could brag in front of her brother because she knew he would never harm her, but with Gunner, things were different, as this guy was a true wild beast who didn't hold back for anyone.

Gunner said no more and began walking towards Ijin, who didn't waste time either and stepped forward despite his sister holding his arm and pleading with him not to fight.

"Sorry, this is nothing personal, you just messed with the wrong people"

Gunner spoke in a flat tone as he approached, without getting any response from Ijin, who simply moved a tearful Dayun aside and quickened his pace.

This interaction did not go unnoticed by the nearby students, who began forming a large circle to watch the impending fight.

Most had already heard about the crushing defeat Ki-soo had suffered at the hands of Dayun's older brother, so they were curious to see if this guy could stand up to Cheo Gunner.

Although almost everyone, including Dayun, thought the transfer student would be crushed, they still wanted to see how his defeat would unfold.

"Sophie, is it okay for Gunner to do this? I mean, he's not one to hit on command" - Anna asked her friend in the group that had come with the redhead.

"Well" - Sophie didn't respond immediately, only glancing at Hee-jin. "We can't do anything. I feel sorry for that guy, but Gunner wanted to get rid of that favor, and the spoiled princess just gave him a pass to do it."

"At least this way, Gunner won't have to keep worrying about the help his mother received from that bitch's parents" - David also spoke in a low voice - "As Sophie said, it's nothing personal against that guy, he just had bad luck"

Everyone knew that Gunner was tied down because Hee-jin's family had the power to sink not only the business of the redhead's mother but also ruin his future by sending him to juvenile detention or even prison if they wanted to.

Most of the things Gunner had done had been covered up by Hee-jin's family's power.

Why did they do this?

Because Gunner could potentially be a member and future leader of the gangsters working with Hee-jin's family.

That's why, even after beating up several gangsters, there were no repercussions for the redhead. Hee-jin's family was grooming their future attack dog, even if he resisted.

Everyone gathered started whispering about what was about to happen, and some even started betting on the almost certain outcome.

'Wow, this is going to be interesting,' Robert thought with a smile, having grasped everything that was about to happen. 'Let's see how you stretch your muscles, Ijin… maybe they'll manage to land a good hit on you.'

However, things were about to get much more interesting, but not for our protagonist.

"STOP!"

Just when Gunner and Ijin were almost a meter apart and had raised their fists, a thunderous shout echoed through the place, grabbing everyone's attention, including the two guys who were about to start fighting!

When everyone turned to see who had shouted, they realized it was none other than the other transfer student.

Why the hell did Robert stop the fight if just moments ago he was curious to see how Ijin would mop the floor with Gunner?

Well, there was a reason for it, one that didn't please our protagonist.

Ding, ding, ding
