From within the aftermath of the explosion, a figure gradually emerged.
"So, this is the newly discovered containment object? How laughable—it's nothing impressive at all."
The voice was male, dripping with arrogance and a sense of superiority.
Upon hearing it, Yamcha could hardly control himself, gasping heavily as if he might collapse at any moment.
"No… why is he here?!"
Yamcha stared in disbelief at the figure, his heart pounding wildly.
Because this man was none other than the Saiyan who had once invaded Earth—Vegeta!
"Yamcha, what's wrong? Why are you so scared?" Bulma asked, confused by Yamcha's reaction.
"You idiot! He's the Saiyan who attacked Earth not too long ago!"
Yamcha snapped anxiously.
"What?! He's a Saiyan?!"
Bulma's face instantly turned pale, nearly fainting.
"Can't you see his tail?!"
Yamcha was exasperated; it was an obvious sign of a Saiyan.
Wait…
Yamcha suddenly noticed something unexpected.
Vegeta's tail was gone.
"Curious about my tail, are you? It got obliterated thanks to Kakarot's attack," Vegeta growled, visibly seething as his entire body trembled with rage, veins bulging.
Back then, he'd fled with all his might, but Goku's Kamehameha still caught him, severing his tail and leaving him critically injured. Ironically, this injury had spared him, allowing Bulma not to recognize him as a Saiyan when she brought him home to treat him.
"Don't even think about causing trouble! Goku will beat you again!" Yamcha shouted, trying to buy time until Goku and Piccolo could arrive.
"Kakarot, you say? Don't underestimate me! I am the Prince of the Saiyans! If he can become a Super Saiyan, so can I!"
Vegeta's roar unleashed a terrifying pressure, flooding the area like a tidal wave.
The sheer force blew Yamcha off his feet, with Bulma getting flung in another direction.
"Vegeta!"
At that moment, Goku arrived with the other Z Fighters in tow.
"Damn it, now is not the time for a confrontation with Kakarot!"
Though Vegeta longed for revenge, he knew he was currently outmatched by Goku and needed to escape immediately.
Looking around, he saw Bulma's position as a potential escape route.
In a flash, Vegeta appeared behind Bulma, grabbing her by the collar and lifting her off the ground.
"Don't move, or she dies!" Vegeta warned, using Bulma as a hostage.
The tactic worked; Goku and the others dared not make a move.
"What are you talking about? She's just a woman!" Piccolo scoffed, showing no sympathy.
"But, Piccolo-san, Bulma will die!" Gohan quickly held Piccolo back.
"Let go of me, idiot!"
"Help! What are you all waiting for?!" Bulma cried, her face streaked with tears as she struggled against Vegeta's iron grip, but there was no way she could escape him.
"You ungrateful brute! I was the one who took you in and treated your injuries! And this is how you repay me?!" Bulma shouted, furious.
"Shut up! Sparing your life is reward enough!" Vegeta snarled, silencing Bulma with a glare.
"What do you want in exchange for letting Bulma go?" Goku asked, his eyes locked onto Vegeta as he calmed himself.
"I'll release her once I'm safe. If you don't want her dead, then don't make a move," Vegeta sneered.
"You're joking! Who would listen to your demands?!" Piccolo fumed, barely restraining himself with Gohan and Krillin holding him back.
"I agree to your terms. Just release Bulma, and I won't interfere," Goku promised, keeping a close eye on Vegeta, looking for an opening.
"Good, that's what I wanted to hear," Vegeta smirked and, in an instant, vanished, taking Bulma with him.
Only then did everyone realize the gravity of the situation.
"Hahaha!"
"Kakarot, you're far too naive! You missed your chance! You should have taken Piccolo's advice and attacked outright! But no, you worried about a hostage! Foolish! I will become a Super Saiyan, and I'll return for revenge!"
"When that time comes, none of you will survive!"
Vegeta's voice echoed around them, filled with murderous intent and mockery, leaving Goku looking distressed.
"Goku, you idiot!" Piccolo spat, his anger directed at Goku.
"Why didn't you do as I suggested? Now we've lost our best chance! Who knows what kind of trouble he'll bring us now!"
Goku said nothing, visibly shaking.
"Hey, Kami-sama! Can you track Vegeta's whereabouts?" Goku called out urgently, looking to the sky.
"Unfortunately, he's too fast. I can't keep up with him," Kami replied grimly, his expression equally troubled.
"Goku, your foolishness has cost us! If you hadn't cared about that woman, that Saiyan would be defeated by now! If he escapes and truly becomes a Super Saiyan, we'll be in grave danger!" Piccolo yelled in frustration.
"Are you kidding me? You wanted to let Bulma die?!" Yamcha shouted, infuriated.
"What happens to her doesn't concern me!" Piccolo retorted.
"Ahhhh!!"
Amidst their argument, cries of anguish filled the air as more people suffered.
"Enough! I'll find a way to track Vegeta. You all deal with the humanoid creatures," Goku said resolutely before taking off into the sky.
Seeing this, the others reluctantly continued their tasks.

Meanwhile, in the DC Universe…
Diana was tirelessly hunting down humanoid creatures. At first, she hadn't been concerned by these weak entities, but as their numbers continued to grow, the situation became overwhelming.
"If even one of these things escapes, we're in trouble," Diana thought gravely.
She swung her Sword of Victory, releasing countless beams of light to obliterate a massive group of creatures.
"Ma'am, not to rush you, but these monsters are appearing on infrared all over. The police can't handle this load," Lucius' tense voice came through her communicator.
"I understand."
As Diana spoke, a group of humanoid creatures descended from above in an ambush!
Just as she prepared to respond, a shadowy figure with a drill-like motion sliced through the creatures, piercing their ranks effortlessly.
