As for the newly developed version of the Basic Inner Technique, it no longer deserves to be called "basic."
"This is a Chakra technique specifically developed for myself," Jin mused. "The subsequent development will be multifaceted."
After thinking for a moment, Jin decided, "Let's call it 'Heavenly Demon Technique.' After all, it has a nice ring to it."
Jin extended his hand, and Chakra began to gather in his palm. The originally blue Chakra had turned jet-black.
"The impact on techniques like Shadow Clone and the Body Flicker Technique isn't significant," Jin observed, "but other breathing techniques and Fire Release ninjutsu can be completely discarded."
"I need a new breathing technique for my swordsmanship, and my Chakra also enhances Yin Release techniques."
Although Yin Release is primarily associated with various clan secrets, for Jin, whose Chakra nature had already been fixed, he could use anything as long as it wasn't a Kekkei Genkai. Moreover, it even provided a boost to his learning.
He couldn't help but ponder whether others would suspect him—was it that the Uchiha strayed, or did the Nara stray? It was something worth considering.
However, it wasn't very appropriate for him, as a Uchiha in Konoha, to openly use the Nara clan's Shadow Imitation Technique, even though he and Shikaku did get along very well.
That was just because their peculiar interests were similar—men's rivalry, based on their preferences for mature women, should not be mixed with personal grudges.
He had no real conflict with the Nara clan.
Jin's gaze fell upon a copy of the Book of Seals, and he noticed an interesting technique within.
"Bringer-of-Darkness," Jin murmured, rubbing his chin. If he remembered correctly, the official lore stated that this was a technique developed by Tobirama specifically to counter the Uchiha's Sharingan.
Although it was labeled as a genjutsu, in reality, it was more akin to a ninjutsu. While genjutsu invades the mind, the Bringer-of-Darkness creates a pitch-black space.
Attempting to break it using methods that disrupt genjutsu was ineffective. Unless the caster allowed it, everyone would be enveloped in darkness—a ninjutsu that sealed off vision.
However, when not targeting the Uchiha, its power was quite limited. A wide-ranging ninjutsu could easily break it.
As for the Uchiha clan, except for Jin, they all had a peculiar confidence in their Sharingan. It wasn't like they had the Mangekyō; Jin couldn't fathom what they were so confident about.
"What if I combine it with the Shadow Imitation Technique and the Sharingan?" Jin pondered. "Then the darkness I create would become my domain."
Lastly, he glanced at the Flying Thunder God Technique written in the Book of Seals. The Flying Thunder God Technique required a certain spatial aptitude and an understanding of sealing techniques. Jin met the criteria.
"Let's take it slow," Jin sighed. He hadn't even begun training in the Heavenly Demon Technique yet. The development of this Chakra technique would certainly follow the path of the Heavenly Demon Technique he knew—absorbing Chakra, life force, vitality, and blood.
"All of this will take time to achieve," Jin thought. He had many ideas, but they were just that—ideas. He needed to master the Heavenly Demon Technique first.
"Knock, knock."
A knocking sound interrupted his thoughts. Jin, with dark circles under his eyes, walked to the door. He hadn't gotten much rest in the past two days while trying to grasp the basics.
"Who is it?" Jin yawned as he opened the door, seeing Yashiro standing there.
"Yashiro, what brings you here today?"
Jin invited Uchiha Yashiro into the room, treating him with a courtesy that sharply contrasted with how he usually treated another uninvited Uchiha.
After Jin served some fruit, Yashiro laughed and explained his visit, "I'm here to say goodbye. I'm heading to the Land of Hot Water tomorrow."
The Land of Water borders the Land of Fire, with the Land of Hot Water in between.
"You mentioned it last time, I remember," Jin said, recalling their previous conversation where Yashiro had said he would join Fugaku on the battlefield. Jin hadn't expected Yashiro to come just to say farewell.
Noticing Jin's heavy dark circles, Yashiro, like an old man, began to nag, "You need to get some rest... You're still young..."
Jin nearly dozed off as he listened. Though Yashiro was kind-hearted, Jin had no idea where he had picked up this habit of nagging the younger generation.
Seeing that Yashiro showed no signs of stopping, Jin quickly interrupted, "Yashiro, what's the current situation with the Hidden Mist Village?"
If any of the Five Great Shinobi Villages truly embodied the essence of a ninja, it was the Hidden Mist Village. They practiced secret assassinations and had few high-powered ninjutsu, but were home to numerous assassination experts.
"Hidden Mist, huh?" Yashiro frowned as he spoke. "Honestly, I don't quite understand them. Most of our clashes have been with those heretic ninja."
"The ninjas from Hidden Mist are always mysterious. They disappear without a trace."
"So far, Konoha's outposts haven't turned into trenches, which is good news."
Information about the Hidden Mist Village was something every Uchiha had to know. After all, ninjas were often deployed to target the Hidden Mist Village.
However, the Hidden Mist's abilities were far from friendly to the Uchiha. Not only did their water-style ninjutsu counter the Uchiha's fire-style, but the Hidden Mist's signature Mist Technique also completely neutralized the Sharingan.
The Sharingan didn't have the Byakugan's ability to see through the mist.
In reality, the Byakugan would be more effective against the Hidden Mist Village. However, Konoha's strategy for the Hyūga clan involved spreading them across all directions, leaving the Uchiha to handle the Hidden Mist Village alone.
"Heretics, huh," Jin thought, recalling a certain immortal ninja from the future. "Do they have any techniques that grant immortality?"
He was particularly curious about the jutsu used by Hidan in the future.
Yashiro shook his head. "They don't have any immortality techniques, just some very bizarre and unpredictable jutsu. Without prior information, you shouldn't engage with the heretic ninjas carelessly; you'll suffer for it."
Yashiro spoke from experience. Unlike most ninjas who relied on high-powered ninjutsu, these heretics used techniques that were difficult to predict and defend against. In the Land of Hot Water, it wasn't uncommon for a mere Genin to kill a Jonin. Similarly, a seemingly powerful Jonin might not be able to defeat an ordinary Genin.
"So, Yashiro, have you heard of the Cult of Jashin?"
"The Cult of Jashin?" Yashiro shook his head. "Never heard of it. It might be a small cult. Are you interested in them?"
Although the Land of Hot Water was famous for its hot springs, for some reason, this small country always managed to produce incredible power during times of war, birthing many strange cults. Currently, even the Hidden Hot Water Village wasn't necessarily weaker than the Hidden Rain Village.
"If you come across any information about them, please let me know," Jin requested.
The ability to be immortal was something Jin found highly enticing. If he could unravel that ability, who knows, he might just acquire it for himself.
