Felix sat at his desk, surrounded by stacks of notes and textbooks. The countdown had begun--a week until exams, and then, the US trip.
He scribbled some notes down, his mind racing with excitement. Seeing Psalm was really all he could think about. He really hadn't been as excited as he presently was in a while.
He heard a knock on his front door and paused as he looked at the time. It was almost midnight and he never really answered the door during that time, probably because no one ever knocked during that time. There were no messages or calls that indicated that anyone he knew was coming over.
"Who is it?" he called as he got closer and the knocks kept getting louder. The person really was persistent.
"Your sister."
He had a look of surprise on his face the moment he'd heard the familiar voice.
He opened the door to find Halimat, his half-sister, standing with a weary expression on her face.
