He knew he had to report back to Ada in some way, but he didn't want to. He did the opposite of everything they'd talked about and knew how his friend would react.
Felix had only spent a day with Psalm when the next day, the twins came barging in and he offered to leave. The twins were quite nice to him and he didn't know whether they knew what was going on between him, but he tried not to think about it too much. Psalm would never let any harm come to him anyway.
Psalm walked him out, albeit begrudgingly. He'd forced some naira notes into his palm while he also sent him something in his account, wishing him a safe drive back to school. Felix didn't protest at his boyfriend's fussing and chose to enjoy it, trying to ignore the looks some staff were giving them.
On the way back, Felix started reminiscing about the time he'd spent with Psalm. Of course, it wasn't a new thing for him…he just couldn't help it. They'd had time for each other even during their exams. Psalm never stopped being respectful, considerate and sweet whenever the time called for it. Ada had even jokingly mentioned how he was treating Felix like a kept woman with how he barely did anything in his presence. It was sweet. Really sweet.
He really should've told Psalm what was bothering him.
He glanced at his phone when he felt it vibrate.
Psalm: Hope you're safe
Felix: I'm perfectly fine. Have fun with your friends, Psalm.
Psalm sent a heart emoji in response.
Psalm would occasionally call him pretty and baby, but Felix always felt shy saying those words. It was weird. He wondered when it wouldn't be weird.

Ada went out with Onyema. She'd sent a text to Felix earlier so he didn't mind. They were always spending time together anyway.
He stepped into her room after unlocking it with the spare key he'd been given and sighed. It was nice to be alone once in a while no matter how much he liked the many friends in his life–which were less than three in number, of course.
He let the room stay in its darkness, opening no curtains or windows and moved straight to the spare room.
"I should probably write," he muttered, taking off his clothes and now left with some shorts on.
Felix was a writer. Well, he used to be one. He used to write a lot of stuff, while in primary and secondary school, but he stopped at some point. When he realized that he had to focus on his studies.
Thanks to Psalm, he'd regained his passion for writing. Though, from the course he was studying now, it didn't seem like he lost his passion totally. Maybe he just needed someone to point out some things to him.
"You shouldn't be shy or embarrassed when it comes to something like that," Psalm had said. "You have talent. You should work on it."
He'd caught him writing random stories on a notebook of his before saying that. It was nice to receive praises for something he didn't take too seriously anymore. Really nice.
Felix walked over to the desk in the room and sat down in front of the laptop on it, contemplating what to do.
The laptop was a gift from Psalm. He really seemed to be into the fact that his boyfriend could write, so he got him headphones, an extra cell phone, a few more notebooks and offered to help him with some connections if he wanted to write a script, a novel, or anything. It was quite overwhelming that Felix had to stop him in his tracks. The man needed to calm down a bit.
He sighed. Writing was harder than he remembered. Writing on paper seemed easier than writing on the laptop now, though still hard. He wondered how the various authors he liked were able to even have multiple books. It wasn't like writing was hard all the time, it was just a stressful thing to do constantly. Especially juggling school. Luckily, he was done for the year now.
He reached for his new headphones and started playing music from his favorite playlist, switched on the laptop, opened his documents app and stretched his arms before writing down whatever came to mind. He could always edit or delete it if he hated it anyway.
He was at it until the sun was almost down, muttering to himself once in a while and oblivious to the fact that there was a foreign figure in his room now. When he felt a hand on his shoulder though, he finally knew.
"You're a terrible person," he gasped after almost jumping out of his skin.
Ada, who seemed to be proud of herself, shrugged with a big smile on her face. "You scare so easily," she said, moving away from him to look around the small room.
Felix took off his headphones and relaxed as he gazed at her. She looked really good, as usual.
"How was your day?" He asked.
"Wonderful! Onyema took me to a bakery, but that was after we ate some seafood. He let me take some home, so don't worry."
Felix nodded. Ada and Onyema were now together anyway, so it was normal for him to take her out occasionally. It was nice that he was always remembered when it came to food though.
"What about you?" She asked after doing a totally random twirl.
"I'm good."
She nodded, hands akimbo. "What about Psalm? How's he?"
"He's good," he answered, dreading what was going to come next.
"From your tone, I'm guessing you didn't tell him," she said, staring intently.
"Well…"
Ada rolled her eyes. "I won't bother you about this, but I expect within this week that you'd have grown the balls to tell him."
Felix sighed, downcast. "Yeah. I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. There's nothing wrong with liking someone to the point that you don't want to ruin the mood."
"Yeah."
"But you better tell him o."
He raised his hands up. "I promise, I will."
"If you want to eat the things I brought now that it's hot, you can follow me," she suddenly said, turning to leave.
Felix's eyes lightened up.
"It'll probably be our dinner."
"We'll definitely come up with something later," Felix assured her, standing up to follow.
"Okay. You will."
Felix laughed. "Whatever you say."
