The forensic team entered the house with their equipment and immediately began their work. They dusted for fingerprints, photographed every inch of the rooms, and carefully bagged potential evidence.
Larson watched as they combed through the living room. "Let's make sure we don't miss anything," she said.
One of the forensic experts approached Larson, holding up a small, clear evidence bag containing a piece of paper. "We found this near the television, ma'am. It looks like some kind of note."
Larson took the bag and examined the note. It had a cryptic message written in hurried handwriting :"Red is my favorite colours - what's yours?."
Roberts, who had just entered the house, joined Larson. "What's that?"
Larson showed him the note. "See for yourself." she said, handing him the bag.
Roberts read the note and frowned. "What the hell is this supposed to mean?"
"My take is, he just told us his favorite color," Larson said sarcastically.
