Raika stood there, the cool evening breeze brushing past her as she held the flower bouquet and chocolate in her hands. The guard beside her now awkwardly clutched the food basket, his posture stiff. As the door creaked open, Raika leaned slightly forward, her expression softening into a gentle smile.
"Good evening, Mia," Raika greeted in a soft voice, her smile warm and inviting. "How are you today?"
Mia stood in the doorway, her figure framed by the dim light from inside. Her eyes were slightly puffy, and she wore a faint smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. There was a lingering sadness behind her gaze, but she forced herself to respond politely.
"Thanks for visiting me," Mia said quietly, her voice soft and a bit strained. She glanced at the bouquet and chocolates in Raika's hands, her faint smile wavering. "You didn't have to…"
Raika shook her head gently, stepping a little closer. "Of course I did, Mia. You're my friend, and I care about you."
