Chapter 3 - Respect Earned, But the Game Continues

[Quest: How to Adapt to Your Surroundings (3/3)]

[Detail: Now, you have already proven yourself to be adaptable. You know who you are, your surroundings, and where you are now. You are stuck as none other than Loligaki, and in COTE no less. However, it's not the end of the world. You have the gamer abilities, and you have already leveled up to the point you are becoming One Punch Girl in COTE. No one is your opponent as your stats have already broken the limits that humans are supposed to have. The rest are just trivial quests, yes, trivial. You still do not yet know who your classmates are or who your teacher is. Thus, introduce yourself to them, get to know them better, then we will talk.]

[Reward: 10,000 EXP, Armor of Babylon (Fate)]

The EXP isn't much compared to the past, however, it's just a minor quibble in the grand scheme of the scenario. My eyes brightened at the Armor of Babylon that was owned by Gilgamesh. If I'm not wrong, indeed there is armor for females; evidently, it was worn by Angelica in Fate Illya Magical Girl, but I don't know whether the armor is suitable for me or not.

Indeed, The Gamer is OP and a broken power. It's not yet the start of the class, and I already have so much power. It wouldn't be too long for me to be godlike.

I'm not sure what I should do. I have already stood at the peak of humanity. The competition between classes seems boring for me. Should I build my own business empire here? But, what benefit would I get from it? Dominating the school seems not to give any benefit for me. They aren't helpful on a higher plane. I have already reached the pinnacle of humanity, even surpassed it, so it doesn't matter to me anymore. I need the higher plane, the higher world, not this ordinary world.

It doesn't mean I dismiss the idea of staying in this world. I still need to level up, do quests, and stay in a safer world to thrive on a higher plane in the future. This world undoubtedly provides me with a good chunk of EXP without exposing or risking myself to danger.

Let's be real, in my past life I was just a nerd, so don't expect me to be a great fighter or warrior who could level up easily in a dungeon. It's not very realistic for a nerd to suddenly be able to kill goblins left and right. Even adventurers in Danmachi struggle with them and die. They are more experienced than me and have already been exposed to danger earlier, but they still die. So, I don't think I am better than them in terms of skill or experience when it comes to fighting. Until I am powerful enough to blast a goblin with hellfire or any other shit, I will choose the safer option and do the quests diligently for EXP.

"You... Did you think my brother's orientation speech was boring?"

My musing was unfortunately interrupted by the sound of a cold woman. I frowned in displeasure. I don't like her superior tone. What I hated was others acting condescendingly toward me. That was indeed a very unpleasant experience.

I turned my attention to the woman and subconsciously checked her stats.

Suzune Horikita

Lvl 3 Student

Detail: She is currently the Council President's sister of Advanced Nurturing High School. She was known for her bro-con and her unrequited feelings for her brother throughout the series.

Relationship: -5

Thought of you: She has a good impression of you, but she can't stand the fact you didn't pay attention to her brother's speech and wants to teach you your place.

Narrow-minded that much? I didn't even insult her brother or yawn like the guy named Yamauchi over there.

[1. Divert her attention to Yamauchi and let her know someone is blatantly yawning and chatting during her brother's orientation speech.]

[2. Brush off her offense and apologize for your action. With this, you will let everyone know that you can be overstepped at will even by a minor offense.]

[3. You don't play by the rules and show by your actions that you aren't someone to be trifled with.]

Interesting... It seems the game already fixed the loophole and bug in the choice, so I couldn't choose them all like previously.

It's impossible to do so again by evidence of the options before me.

[Choose 3]

[Quest: The Apex Predator (1/5)]

[Detail: You choose the path of conquest and dominance and you will never let a random girl walk over you just because she can. Now, it's time to show the whole school what you are made of. Dominate the scene, publicly humiliate the offender, and come out on top from it.]

[Reward: +20,000 EXP, Hellfire Skill Book (1), Elder Wand (Harry Potter)]

Let's see what I could do to finish the quest and grinning sweetly as I saw Horikita before me.

I decided, you will become my grinding for EXP, Horikita.

Fufufu...

She stepped back in fear as my vindictive traits began to work their wonder and inflict fear on her.

"You... What do you want to do?"

Despite my sweet smile, Suzune Horikita seemed to notice the malice behind it. Despite the fear, she quickly stood on her own feet and her aura grew stronger and colder than before as she stared at me stubbornly.

"Fufufu... I did nothing, Horikita-san. You're the one who was aggressive first. Everyone can see it. Are you perhaps using your status as the president's sister to bully a freshman?" My voice was loud enough for everyone to hear it. Even the Council President's expression darkened, probably because he didn't want his sister to be exposed early, but I cared less about what he wanted or his feelings. The EXP and leveling up were beckoning me. The risk was worth the investment, especially since I was stronger than him in every way.

"Is she the president's sister? I thought this was an elite school. Why is the president's sister bullying a cripple girl so blatantly?" The freshman whispered.

"Shush... Lower your voice, you will bring us trouble." The other freshman who was more cautious warned his friend not to offend the council president and his sister in a low voice.

This school supposedly nurtures elites, yet the president's sister is a bully? The seeds of doubt are sown.

I could hear their discussion thanks to my gamer stats that had already surpassed the peak of humanity, heightening my senses to another level.

Despite their sound not being low, it's evident the whispers were not only from one person but many gossiping in low voices.

They were aiming it at Manabu and Horikita, and Manabu, known for his quick wit, hurriedly coughed.

"I apologize for the inconvenience brought by my sister. Everyone, I can assure you that this school will never tolerate bullying." He bowed.

Then, he stepped down from his high podium and bowed to me in apology. "I apologize for my sister's rudeness. I will make sure to teach her in the future."

"Fufufu... Don't worry, President, I forgive your sister." I chuckled graciously, and Manabu sighed in relief that I didn't make a big deal out of the situation and prepared to leave, but his sister's stubbornness left him speechless on the spot.

"Brother... You're not wrong, this girl is the one who is wrong..." Unfortunately, her speech was interrupted by an incoming slap, but before it could land a hit on Suzune, I caught Manabu's hand gently without revealing my strength, and Manabu dared not to force it further and put a stop to his act.

"Ahem... President, I have already told you, she was forgiven by me," I added, earning the respect of the freshmen. Even Manabu's hostility toward me was greatly reduced as he stared at his sister coldly.

Suzune could only lower her head in shame, probably wondering what she did wrong to deserve to be treated like this.

"You don't need to say anything more, Suzune. I will not protect you or tolerate you being aggressive toward someone under my name. Freshmen, I hope this incident will not lead you to have a bad impression of the school. The school will judge everyone fairly based on merits, no matter your identity. And welcome to Advanced Nurturing High School." Horikita Manabu's loud voice was welcomed by the clapping hands of freshmen.

His act wasn't judged harshly; instead, it was welcomed by freshmen with open arms when they saw the Council President was very fair, even willing to punish his sister in front of them to prove his point.

Brilliant, it's fucking brilliant, Horikita Manabu. You're not only deflecting the weakness that your sister inflicted on you, but you are brilliantly winning the approval of the freshmen, and you did it wonderfully.

This wasn't part of the plan, but hey, it turned out better than expected.

I thought this school was going to be boring, but you proved me wrong, President. This school is anything but boring.

A genuine smile erupted on my face as I joined the applause.
