Kalix Noah's POV
She has this charm that will make you feel better and more warm. I saw how much she turns the table with positive vibes.
It's been ages since we had this lively table when we ate as a whole family. She must have noticed our silence during the winter ball.
My sisters were also surprised at how sweet she is. Mostly… I notice her charm, whether she's talking to a gentleman or a lady. If you're a girl, you might forget that this charming person was a woman—a wife.
I sighed. Our family breakfast ends, and yet there's a happiness that fills my heart. My wife dashes back into her room while I'm waiting for her before she leaves.
"Hon!" she called.
Everyone stopped cleaning when they heard how she called me. I know I'm blushing, but I act like I'm not bothered by it.
I raised my head and saw her masculine looks. She's wearing the same clothes she had when she proposed to me.
"Are you heading on the training ground?" I ask. She nods.
"Your Majesty, entertain everyone for me, please? There's a chance that I'll be home late tonight. Is that okay with you?" Kassandra asks.
I nodded. "If you need any money or goods, just go speak with the head butler. Take anything that you need," I said. She nodded. My wife tiptoed and kissed my cheek.
"I'll see you later, milord," she says, bowing her head. She walks away and leaves.
I sighed and shook my head. "How did she pull that? She's both beautiful and handsome. What a strange wife I have," I whispered. The servants chuckled.
"That's why Princess Ava was enchanted by her charm. Sometimes it's hard to know if she's a man or a woman."
I agree with what they said. Come to think of it, she has a flat chest when she leaves. Her bosom was... I shook my head.
I better drop that thought, or else I'll need to wait until she comes home. That would be painful for me.
I left the living room and went to my office. I heard my siblings go out and go to the tourist spots here in the port. I think my parents did the same thing as well.
Enrique is not here because I told him to check the granary and send the supply to my wife's military base. I know Kassandra would rather use Escalante's assets than accept my offer.
I heard a knock. "Come in," I say.
I flipped to the next page. I have to make sure the reports about Easton's tragedy are done today. I have to give this report to my father.
The door opens, and my parents enter. They lock the door. I stood up and bowed my head. They raise their hands. I let them sit first before I did the same.
"Is there a problem, mom and dad?" I ask. They look at each other.
"We need to talk to you. Your mother told me what happened yesterday. Your brother harasses your wife, doesn't it?" Father says.
I sighed and showed him my real emotions. I was disappointed because I'd been expecting that my big brother wouldn't go to that extent.
"I thought Kassandra would bring that to us, especially when we're eating, but your mom and I were wrong. She brought up our good memories instead, which we admire, Noah."
I sighed, and my expression became serious. "Your mother and I will speak with Gregory about his actions. We are deeply sorry if your own brother wants to harass his brother's wife," my dad says. I meet his eyes and speak.
"Is there even a name for that, Dad? They hate me after they almost lost their lives after I jinxed in their love. They never forgot the terror I inflicted on them. That's why they're getting even with me," I replied. Mom was trying to hold back her tears. As parents, I know they're worried.
"Don't worry. My wife told me to seal my lips and keep them behind. She asks me to keep it myself. I know Big Brother and my soon-to-be in-laws will tell Big Brother Gregory what we witnessed. They should be the ones you're talking with, Mother," I stated. I notice how frustrated my mom is.
"I know that you are mad at me, son. You might be thinking that I'm afraid of you. After I told you to distance yourselves from your siblings for their safety, I knew you were upset by that," Mom whispers. She looks depressed. My dad, on the other hand, was trying to comfort his queen.
"Did you know what my wife says when she drags me outside on that night of our wedding day?" I ask. They look at me.
"She told me that siblings can argue, but they shouldn't kill each other," I remarked.
They look surprised because of what I said. "I choose to keep my mouth shut because my wife asks me to think before ruining what is left of my relationship with all of you. I did listen to her."
I fiddled with my fingers that intertwined while resting my hands on my knees. I look at them hopelessly.
"I'll always be an El Greco, and that won't change. I realize the reason why I'm in pain. I missed those days when we all ate together as happily as we had a while ago. I enjoyed that family breakfast we had," I explained.
'Yes… my wife made me realize that I want us to get along again. I want my family back. I want us to be together.'
"I also missed those days when I was looking at my children, who were happy while eating with each other. Your wife pushes us in the most unexpected way," Father says.
I also have the same thought. They said, When you're facing an enemy, kill them with kindness. That's what she showed to my big brother, the crown prince.
"Kassandra told me that she wants me and my siblings to get along. She even promises that she'll do it in every way possible. I thought she was joking," I confessed. The mother looks puzzled.
"What did you mean by that?" Mom asks.
"I have no idea either. I want to see what kind of plans she's having. I hope it's not something shady. I'm still guarding myself against my wife," I said.
My dad shook his head and spoke. "Lower your guard, son. She's not that kind of person. I assure you that," Dad stated. I simply laugh.
"I know that. It won't be challenging if I keep them all down, right? I love how she breaks the walls toward me. Kassandra is something," I whispered.
My dad's and mom's faces turn pale. I know they're a bit scared of my reaction. I just smirk and place my index finger on my lips. "Ssh… it's a secret," I remarked and winked.
