My bride insisted that I should sleep in the mansion last night, and I agreed. I was doing a simple exercise when my father-in-law joined me.
"I know you've wanted to speak with me, Duke Magnus. I already noticed that last night," I remarked.
"I just want to know if you are serious about taking good care of my daughter, if you are serious about marrying her, if you won't cause her pain like you and Lady Cici had done before," he says.
I feel bad because of what he says, but I'll never blame him. I'll take accountability for the things that happened a few years ago.
"But I know it was you who secretly save my daughter and take good care of her while she's in the academy's clinic. The headmaster told me about it," he added. I turn my head and stop stretching.
